The Official Tennessee @ Vanderbilt Game Thread, 4:00 PM ET, SEC Network

I didn't shut it off fast enough and had to hear Mason saying, after beating the tar out of TN, "We're relevant again!! We're going bowling!!!!"

Man, even in the 70"s & 80's we had whipping Vandy.

Now we don't even have that.

I'm literally sick to my stomach.

Well that sucked.

They made plays when they had to on Shermer's career night.
JG was inaccurate tonight.
They were ready to do battle on 50/50 balls.
Too many missed tackles.
Not enough protection
Not enough commitment to run game (TOP and not getting 3rd down stops wore our D out).

Pathetic effort in the exclamation point to a disappointing season, from both an effort and improvement standpoint. The glimmer of hope of the Auburn and UK games has been completely erased by the embarrassment of the lack of effort against UF, Bama, USCe, Mizzou, and now...especially...Vandy. This was not what we paid for, hoped for, or waited all year for. This is sad.

And despite an OL that should have been named "The Matadors", JG is simply not an SEC-level QB. He's just not. It took me all year to see it, but today it was there for all to see. He might be our best QB, but he's not an SEC QB. Shurmer would have killed Vandy had he been in white today, even with our OL. Consider that.

The Culture of Losing that Pruitt and staff inherited is still there. Only time and turnover can fix it. Mostly turnover. We saw life from the freshman class. Next year, Pruitt will have two classes onboard, but freshmen and sophomores don't tilt the scales much in the SEC. Sadly, it will be 2020, at best, before we really get a feel for what this staff can do. Gotta cut out all of the rot before you can heal the wound. And there's a lot of rot to get rid of. This roster is full of it.

It starts with the lines. Recruit and build a strong OL and DL, and go from there. Pruitt might have had an idea what he was up against when he took the job, but after today he knows just how bad it is. Where he goes from here will determine whether he's here in three years, or beyond. I'd much rather him prove himself here than learn from his mistakes at his next stop. Sooner or later, he's going to be a winner. I'll take later, as long as it's here.

Sorry, but I'm glad this season is over. Now maybe we can start the actual building process.

Go Vols.

I bet you said the same thing last year and the year before that. This team is pathetic

Well, you'd like to believe that....but I did not... And this team will NOT REMAIN pathetic.....big difference there, and is exactly why I made the post.

This team and these players are the product of CBJ's ability to evaluate and sign Big East talent....to the SEC.....

I simply cannot understand the comments about this coaching staff when CBJ and his crew got nothing but patience in their first year after Derek Doofus....
Do you guys realize that CBJ's first team had MORE talent than this team?

Nevermind...I know it's useless....

Leach sued his former employer and the UT administration immediately called our previous AD to report back when they learned thru wire reports he was speaking with Leach. This hire would never of happened because of Leach's previous lawsuit.

Does it surprise you our administration doesn't really care about winning then?

Does it surprise you that our administration thinks they have a golden goose (the fans) that will never quit pumping money into the university? Sadly for all of us, they are about to learn that ponying up in the short term would have lead to more money in the long term. Instead we're about to see what happens when the program is allowed to wither to the point where people stop showing up.

This was embarrassing. Pruitt better make major changes if he wants people to actually believe he's going to make it as a head coach.

Scheming want good enough, motivation and leadership want good enough, chemistry wasn't good enough, and he doesn't seem interested in being a head coach. Dump Helton, hire an actual DC, become a HC, and figure out how to improve motivation.

Meantime our QB play, pass protection, offensive game plans, and game management are not good enough to complete for division or conference championship. They just aren't.
