If he hasn’t improved since last season, he may end up as the backup to Villaneuve at some point.

It's too early to tell. He had a very nice first at bat that was 12 pitches long, and he's had several foul balls that were cranked and a few feet away from being fair and HRs. But he still swings and misses too much on off-speed. We'll see how things change with a much larger sample.
