The Official Tennessee @ Arkansas Fayetteville Super Regional Game 1 (Sat. June 7 5PM EDT) (ESPN)

There used to be a huge restaurant back in the 1970s with stuffed razorbacks and year labeled all the way around the ceiling in the restaurant. Being young Tennessee fans..we did not stay long. I would go low down on orange in Fayetteville Arkansas on a Saturday night.

I def have zero reason to question any decisions Vitello makes with the starting pitching... My armchair coach feel is... Start Phillips game 1(He's been a co Ace his last few starts).... Gives Doyle a much needed day extra rest and let's us use him physically at his better with a chance to close or keep us alive... I ride with whatever coach goes with as he has the pulse of the team way more than any of us know

Have any of you been to Fayetteville? Any suggestions on restaurants?
Hugo’s on the square is a popular burger joint. The Catfish Hole usually has a good atmosphere (they host the weekly coaches show there) and unlimited hush puppies. JJ’s on Dickson is typically pretty rowdy on game days but with the college kids gone it may not be quite as packed. Otherwise just depends on the type of food you’re after. Bentonville/Rogers about 20 mins north has a few more upscale places, it’s more of a corporate and young professional vibe than the college scene.

This week is also the annual Walmart shareholders meetings and they have a lot of events on campus so just keep that in mind if you plan on arriving Friday, traffic may be awful. It brings in about 14,000 international visitors. Friday is usually their big concert and celebrity guest appearance, brought in Peyton Manning one year for it actually.

GBO!!!

Well I’m very bummed that my Dawgs completely stunk it up, I truly thought we had a good chance to make it to Omaha.

So bc of this I’ll be following and pulling for you guys to get a re-peat. A few years ago I would have thought that there is absolutely no way in hell I’m pulling for TN, especially not to win two in a row, but today I can enjoy doing it. I’ve watched you guys play many times this season and followed Volnation game thread, so I know y’all’s team better than any other team that isn’t UGA. I also really like several of the TN players and I like a great many TN fans here on Volnation.

So I’m pissed and bummed that my team blew it, but for the reasons listed above, I can honestly say that I will enjoy watching as you guys attempt to go back to back.

Going back to back is very hard and I think especially hard in college baseball, but you guys do have another really good team. Of course there are more than a few other very good teams so it’s a tough ask for sure.

Who knows though? This TN team hasn’t been as dominant or consistent as last season, but it’s certainly a team talented enough to make things interesting if they can get hot, stay consistent, and hopefully have a bit more luck than their opponents.

Anyway, I wish you Vols good luck! I can sincerely say that I hope you guys go back to back! I hope your boys are ready tomorrow bc I’ll be watching and hoping to see some great college baseball! I’m going to do something that I never thought I could, I’m going to send out a Go Vols!!! I’m not sure if that’s a good or bad thing coming from a die hard UGA fan, 🤣😂🤣but maybe it will send you guys some luck.

Just thought I would post a little recap on the Arkansas series last month. We did, of course, lose 2 of 3 on the road and it sort of felt that the Vols got manhandled the last 2 games, but that wasn’t the case at all.

Game two we had a crucial error which allowed 2 unearned runs to score or that game would have been tied at 6-all and be anybody’s game. Game three we lose 8-4, but again we had an error at an inopportune time and the Hogs capitalized. Tennessee gave up an astounding 9 walks in game 3, which also opened the floodgates as Arkansas had runners on the bases the whole game.

Doyle gave up 11 hits and 6 earned runs in just 4.2 innings in game 2. That won’t happen again, at least it would be surprising to most of us.

The point here is that we literally gave Arkansas two games that could have been Vol wins if not for sloppy baseball. We can win this series if we clean it up and play good baseball. We don’t have to play perfect by any means, but we do have to play clean baseball.

Almost forgot, we outhit the Hogs in both games we lost and each team had 15 hits in our opening win. GO VOLS!

Wow. Thanks for the support. As a Vol who lives in GA, I never thought I’d hear a Go Vols!
