The Official Tennessee @ Arkansas Fayetteville Super Regional Game 1 (Sat. June 7 5PM EDT) (ESPN)

Tough break today, but it’s nowhere close to over. This whole 80% 20% really doesn’t bother me at all. Today was just rough. You guys even have me giving ole rooty tooty the evil eye. The SOB can pitch though, and pitched very well today unfortunately, but he is out of the equation now.

However, Doyle is just about to step up and into the equation. With no blister issues this time. I think Liam will come out on fire, the shoe is now on the other foot. You think he wasn’t watching how Root was acting? The whole team is gonna probably have a bit extra tomorrow. So I say with Liam you guys take it tomorrow. 80-20 is going to mean nothing tomorrow.

Heck, only lost by 1 run even after everything and with getting all of two hits. Truth is you basically spotted the winning run with the passed ball. You took their best shot and really could have easily come out on top. I sincerely think that Arky won’t fair so well tomorrow. The bats will get hot and Liam will feed off of it and the circumstances and dominate the pigs. I mean do their odds stay at 80% after TN evens things up by blowing the pigs out?

What sticks out to me is you lost by a single run. You guys had Two hits and several costly errors in their house and barely lost. Tomorrow is going to be a big day for 2025 TN baseball. In fact, as you guys like to say, the offense is gonna bring the Big Dongs tomorrow, and there will be nothing that Fresh and Fruity will be able to do about it but sit there and watch as the city of Fayetteville gets completely Donged. Let’s see if he has all of that fiery piss and vinegar tomorrow as he sits there helplessly. I’m glad he acted the way he did, it’s gonna make tmw that much sweeter for you guys. Seriously, y’all will enjoy this.

Or at least that’s briefly the way I see this going.
GTFO! You’re making me like you and I have a strict policy of not liking fans of other sec teams. Also hope you find better health. Now get off my lawn 😂

Hmm…maybe Cannon shoulda thought about it before he said what he said. Blaming one guy is lame when the opposing pitcher owns you.
To be fair, a response as he's walking away shouldn't have drawn an ejection. In my mind, it was an opportunity to hamstring our team in game one which they absolutely had to have. Not blaming Lawless, but let's be honest. Not having Peebles took a bat from an already struggling lineup and maybe Peebles blocks that ball saving a run? We'll never know, but in my mind, I think the ejection did affect this game. For there to have been nothing done about their catcher got my antenna up.

Then yesterday we see the Arky pitcher show his backside in an over the top display. Nothing happened to Root....nothing. Then the umps come together to discuss things and then decide to issue a "warning" to both dugouts....BOTH dugouts. I won't be at all surprised if this isn't used as a justification to boot Doyle if he does anything similar to what Root did yesterday. You can almost see it happening.

Consistency of MLB balls and strikes has improved tremendously since they began grading the officials based on objective data.📊
I would like the NCAA use the K-Zone as they do in MLB to let the fans view if the call is correct or not. Just my opinion but the 📷 angle when the pitcher is pitching isn't where it should be. Should be behind pitcher like MLB does. Plus all strike zones for every player isn't the same, depends on height of the player.

"You hold them accountable" means nothing. And you know it. Whose standards are you going to use? Yours? lol

You have no answer to improving sports baseball officiating. Simple as that. Only complaints.
Hahaha…I guess nothing ever improves in this world. Why would we try to get better?

NCAA only really cares about out one major thing- money coming in. They don’t want to spend it. Not worth discussing anymore because you are clueless.

Thanks, I’m working on the health thing, just going to take awhile, but I’ll get there.

Don’t worry, I’ll get off the lawn, but I’m gonna leave a present for you that only an old Dawg could leave, where you least expect it. 😁

I really think you guys will look back in form on offense today, although I know nothing about the pitcher they are putting on the mound, is there any insight or expectations on how he might look you could share?

I’m excited to see Liam get after these guys today! He is gonna be big trouble for all swine today! I’m ready for 3 PM EST to be here!

We really need Doyle to not only pitch well but pitch almost perfectly.
Shut them down while our offense tries to get some confidence back and scratch out some runs.

As @chuckiepoo posted if the Umpires are graded each series they work from week to week then in the Tournament you will see the best of the bunch. Also grading these guys should be a incentive to do better because if your chosen for Tournament then you get a bump in pay. Hitting people in the pocket seems to get their attention..

I gonna sit this gameday thread out, internet friends. Won’t be able to take it if things go the way baseball sometimes goes.

My middle son was in a wreck in WNC yesterday morning. Airlifted to UT trauma with catastrophic leg injuries. A deputy behind him and a doctor in oncoming traffic gave him immediate attention, applying a tourniquet to stop two severed artery bleeds and save his life. He wrecked 5 minutes from a helipad, so I imagine he was in surgery in Knoxville less than 90 minutes from time of his wreck.

For those who pray, we covet those prayers for my Jacob, his brothers and me and his mother.

Small brain bleed that we need to stay small and low in pressure. That there be no dangerous infection from surgeries to save his legs. That he would breathe and swallow on his own.

As for the Vols?

Win or lose, it is just a game.

GBO!
🙏🙏🙏
will continue
we suffered power outage that began early in afternoon and ended after midnight

If Liam does ANYTHING like what Root did, he will be bounced for sure.

Huh?

Then pay attention while I school you. My ex and I ran a sports officiating company, over 100 independent contractors serving girls's, women, boys and men sports. It cost nothing, zero, to require testing on the rules, specific mechanics as required/sport all over seen by a committee of our officials. Our guys and gals are the best in Atlanta. We also charged the highest per event fees with no one complaining about the value given.

But we were the exception that made the rules. Since we operated as a business (LLC), not a Good Ole Boys Club, we could implement any change we wanted that made our officials better. Since the GOBC is the dominant hierarchy in the large majority of sports officials organization, there is no incentive to get better. MOF, the better umps would leave the GOBCs in droves since they got the least preferred schedules, fields, sports and games (and often partners). GOBCs don't give a rats ass about improving their officiating since it is often off-putting to the old geezers who still wear balloons, use two hands (andheads down) to reset their indicators and black patent belts.

It's a matter of culture, pride and professionalism.

You may go now.
