i quite agree that AU will probably get a real beat down, but the anticipation and buildup to the game for AU's long suffering alumni will be quite enjoyable. has the time for the game been set, yet?
let's get over it. Most of the talking heads don't like the makeup of our team and our style. I agree to some degree, but we have been morphing into more of a tourney team.
I finally cut through the vinegar smell to respond. Pardon the delay....as proved by the second round out in the SEC tournament? I'm sorry, but UT is not built well for a strong tournament run. They don't rebound particularly well and they rely WAY too much on the 3-point shot.
thanks for the reply. i think you and i are the only ones with any ties to AU that have posted on this board. although, from your time there you probably realized that the undergraduate student body is relatively apathetic when it comes to atheletics. i guess i can't blame them since they haven't had much to cheer about in atheletics since they "dropped" down to the Patriot League. by the way, what did you study in graduate school at AU?

I said last year before the tournament that I think that UT will get worse before it gets better (as far as a deep NCAA tournament run) because UT needs a better inside presence. However, Lofton will be gone next year, and UT will take a step back without him. I think that UT is potentially two to three years away from a really serious run in the NCAA, but it is going to depend on how well Pearl reloads the team with talent.
I like that draw. Our toughest game to regional champ is Louisville. Hell, Indiana or Arky might beat UNC.
Political science. My undergraduate degree was in English; I had plans of going into political journalism. I bailed out of the program because I couldn't stand dealing with all the Hill rats.
Your really dreaming aren't you. I cannot wait to dispose of the Vols.
Now having said that I'm proud of your team. Living in Knoxville....I like the vols club..much better than I do the football team.
UT needs to learn to do more than shoot three's and slam dunk...that's all they do.
Plus your half court Defense is not very good and against Carolina that's bad news.
I think if Tennessee gets to the final 8 though...you'll have continued your climb towards the top.
Good luck!
KU - TX was a 3 fest.I always enjoy it when somebody uses relying on the 3 as a weakness as if there are a ton of teams in today's game grinding it out with a bunch of 7 footers in the post.
