The Official NASCAR Talk Thread

I know Dillon was hoping to finish the year in the 14 car. Would have been great for him. The 14 needs someone with experience who can give solid feedback. O would assume they will be in test mode for the rest of the season. Hopefully they gan gain on the gen 6 car adn help feed info to the 39. Mark can prob help the 10 out as well(if that is possible...) Along with Tony once he is back at the track.

I think RCR is wanting to try and keep Dillion's rookie status so he can make a run at ROTY next year in his own car. If he ran the rest of the races it would take away his rookie status for next year if he moves up. JMO though.

I can see that. I wonder if part of him wanted Dillon in the 14 car to try and see if he could learn anything that would help his program going forward. Not saying he wanted Dillon to "spy" but to just go in with open eyes and ears.

Dillon could go in there and learn about how they are setting up their cars that's for sure.

That was never going to happen as was mentioned during some the prerace coverage SHR was going to let Dillon in on just enough to set up the car. He is a RCR guy first and foremost so SHR wasn't going to volunteer to much info as it would eventually get back to Grandpa.

Plus the mentioned of Rookie status for the future as he has laready ran a couple of races I think.

That's what happens when you post without reading the rest of the reply's! :ermm:

Not to mention he'd have no chance at the Nationwide Championship this year. He went from 1st to 3rd after Mid Ohio.

The first to 3rd wasn't due to running the 14 car. He had got himself near the top 10. He just wrecked himself trying to move another car.

He had 5 hrs of track time the day before. They had a full day test on Thursday. I'm not saying it wasn't a factor, but he had raced his way into the top 10 before getting spun in someone elses wreck. Then he raced back up to 11th before spinning himself out on the last lap.

Yes. I just want to see if it works this week :)

I have given up on any sort of superstition or reverse psychology. The kid can win. Just a matter of time.

I am just glad this race comes so shortly after Michigan. It really bums me out when Wallace has a poor race.
