The Official NASCAR Talk Thread

I looked for the post but couldn't find it. I don't really remember what i said. Basically, it comes down to the fact that racing is expensive for fans. And it's not just gas prices. It's the whole thing.

Tickets prices need to be slashed in half. I had seats in Pearson that normally cost 93.00. I got value out of mine paying 65.00. And honestly, I could have paid far less, but I wanted my girlfriend to have a good viewing spot for her first race.

Camping needs to be cut in half too. Like I said, 100.00 to sleep in a tent? C'mon man. And if you want to pay less, you're walking. Remind me again how fun walking around Bristol is.

Hotels at 150.00 a night with a three night minimum seems pretty damn stupid too, but I don't know how business is for them. We got tossed a pair of pit passes late Wednesday night. I would have been willing to stay up there if we could have found a room for 100.00 bucks. Instead, I spent it on gas to drive back and forth both days.

Overall, NASCAR is still acting like this is 1999 when in reality it's 2013. People aren't coming back without making some consessions.

The track redesign is just an excuse that people use to cover up the real issue.

I'll look for it.

I took a beating tonight. Had a 78 point lead, now I am in 2nd place by 12. Plate races have been my achilles heel all year. only scored 200 points, lowest all year.

NASCAR doesn't have any balls. They were scared to hand out penalties because it was too many cars. Not saying they should have been huge penalties. At least fines for not using the parts that comes with a kit that NASCAR mandates to be used. They make up the rules ax they go along. Some things never change.

Not really a surprise here with Bud going with Harvick.

Again not a surprise that Newman will not be returning. I think Patrick should lose her ride before Newman, but Patrick brings sponorship where Newman doesn't really have enough for the full season.

Apparently he is the top candidate for the #29 ride at RCR but I don't see it. I believe Childress said they are going to be a three car team next year. With Austin in the #3/#29 and Paul/Burton coming back just don't see it.

I could see him being in the 29 if they find sponorship, but Newman maybe on the outside looking in.
