The Official NASCAR Talk Thread

I watched the last five laps of the race this weekend. I felt like that was probably the best part.

It definitely was. I haven't been that bored with a race in a long time. The drivers seemed to enjoy it. The next 3 races with the exception of Phoenix will probably mirror yesterday's, unfortunately as far as from an entertainment goes

I think the cookie cutter tracks are killing Nascar IMO.

Years ago, when the IRL raced at these 1.5ers they often ran Indy Lights preliminary races too. However, to slow those guys (and save their lives) they'd use a chicane at the end of pit road. Now, I'm not talking about the .25 mile the bandalero cars use; I'm talking about the patch at the end of pit road that almost every 1.5er has (ex: Charlotte, Texas, ATL).

The first time thru was garaunteed carnage, as were most restarts.

NASCAB would be must watch TV if they added one of those to each race.

I hope NASCAR brings the (Caution Clock) they are using in the Truck Series to Xfinity & Cup next year.

If you don't know what that is when the race starts a clock will countdown starting at 20 minutes and if there is no caution NASCAR will throw one when it hits zero to bunch the field back up and the clock starts again.

I don't think they use it inside 20 laps to go however!

IMO, it made the truck race really exciting.

Many more races like this last one they should consider it lol I'm not all for carnage and cars getting wrecked and torn up by any means but that was brutally boring Sunday

I can see many drivers with dominant cars hating this idea.

Only one race under the new rules, but I wasn't impressed Sunday. Yeah, the drivers loved it but it was a boring race for the fans. I think the reason for less racing and less cautions was maybe all the drivers trying to keep from wrecking. They were racing the track more than their opposition. Hope I'm wrong but from the in-car camera shots I seen, nobody had a good handling car. JMO
