The Official NASCAR Talk Thread

I expected it to be another two to three weeks so here is my crazy theory on why Kyle is rushing back.

His & Kurt's favorite movie is Days of Thunder. I'm thinking Kyle sees himself as Cole Trickle and young Erik Jones is Russ Wheeler trying to take his ride.

Erik is getting all the big publicity etc.. He could have very well have won last week if not for the slip up. Heck in the movie he ends up in the #18 car.

That's exactly why in my opinion.

Actually no, it's not.

If I were a betting man I would say he replaces Denny.

To reach that level, Busch would have to average 28.2 points per race -- just better than 16th place, without bonus points for leading a lap -- for the remaining 15 regular-season races. A max-points victory during that span would mean Busch would only have to finish 17th or better in the other 14 events.

In all but his rookie season and last season, Busch has averaged a 15.5-place finish, and he has made the Chase in seven of his 10 full-time seasons.

Absolute travesty that a guy like MTJ isn't in the All-Star with how well he has run this year and Biffle, Bowyer, and Patrick are...

‎NASCAR‬ has issued a written warning to Jimmie Johnson's No. 48 team after a pit crew member manipulated the side skirt on the six-time champion's car in Saturday night's Sprint All-Star Race.

I wonder how long Nascar is going to let the 48 team push the envelope and get caught before they really slap them with a penalty.

What do you have in mind? They've been caught and suspended plenty of times.

That's my point. They have been suspended plenty times and they still push their luck. I don't know what the answer would be. They obviously don't fear the suspensions or the points being docked.

I don't believe there is a ''repeat offender" rule for infractions outside of the probation period.

When the teams get caught, they just wait out the probation and start bending the rules till they get caught again.

I think there should be.

Oh and in case you didn't know, all the other teams are on the up and up. :eek:k:

I'm not going to pretend the 48 team is the only team out there bending the rules. I would be ignorant to think that.

Just curious as to how many times Nascar is going to let the 48 team get caught before they do anything other than suspend them.

I don't know. On one hand, I can appreciate if a crew chief is good enough to get away with something under the rule packages. But I understand that people want to get as close to a level playing field as possible.

I wouldn't mind it. ..but people start getting sensitive when you take away things that "break away from tradition".
