The "official" Lost thread

If you have the time, you should watch every season. You won't regret it.

I agree....and honestly if you haven't seen the whole series then the last episode isn't going to mean as much to you. I don't mean that in the "things getting explained" way, I mean that it's very emotional when things happen because you've been with the series the whole time.

You know, I don't think the ending was perfect, but I can't believe how some aren't getting it. I'm not talking about on here, I'm also looking on IMDB.com's Lost page and some people really aren't getting it...at all.

I really think you have to have a certain amount of intelligence in order to have followed this show. Honestly people who don't even sort of get it (I'm not talking about differing theories here) probably haven't understood any of the show from beginning to end.

People are completely ignoring the conversation between Jack and Christian.

Yep. I watched again last night and Christian says something that really makes it obvious. Jack asks Christian if everybody in the church is dead, Christian says "Everybody has to die sometime Jack, some of them died before you, some long after."

Exactly....one guy asked if Hurley replaced Jacob and therefore could have lived 2,000 years like Jacob did, but he's dead in the "sideways" world, then why doesn't the world look like 4010 instead of 2010. Obviusly he ignored Christian talking about time having no meaning anymore.

Exactly! We don't know how long Jack has been in purgatory and for all we know Kate lived to be 90!

Exactly, which is why everyone didn't die in the plane crash.

Classic example of someone claiming something sucks because they just don't understand.

Oh I understand it as well as anyone can. I just think it sucked. Perhaps your opinion is a classic example of buying into all the hype surrounding the show and forcing yourself to like an ending that sucked out loud.

Some people didn't care about learning why the light was there and who put it there.

So what do ya'll think about Richard? Did he grow old and die as hinted by the gray hair or is he still out there somewhere with a salt and pepper hairstyle?

I'm a bit disappointed they didn't answer some things but I still think it was an awesome episode.

It was pretty clear for weeks we weren't going to get all the answers. Even if they had devoted last night's episodes to nothing but answers, we woudln't have gotten them all.

I don't buy into hype at all and I loved the ending. The show was always about the characters. The island was just a catalyst for them coming together and was always a side story if you ask me. That's why the ending minutes were not about the island as much as they were about the characters and their involvement with one another.

And every answer was going to lead to another question. Either way people were going to be unsatisfied.

I get it but just felt like the the events leading up to the revelation were rushed and poorly done. If I had to sit back and take an objective point of view in the way the show dealt with the characters the ending was pretty good. I do feel like they missed out on some big opportunities with characters such as Eko (was one of my favorites).

I hated how they dealt with the light in the cave, it came of as cheesy and very corny as did the fight between Locke and Jack. It just came off as rushed and poorly done IMO.

The concept of the characters creating a place to reunite was pretty good as was the way it was revealed to the characters and audience. I just feel like there should have been 3 or 4 more episodes to do it properly. JMO.

Just a simple disco ball hanging in the cave would have changed the whole mood of the scene and would have given the light a cool look. Too late to go back now though.
