The "official" Lost thread

Thought the same. Wouldn't that be ironic?

At the end of last year i was thinking Jacob would have to do the same as Smokey did with Locke in order to achieve this good/evil battle. Honestly assumed it would have been Jack. This is an ironic twist though. If this is true.

Just watched Kimmel and Damon and Carlton were on the show. Jimmy asked them basically what i said about Sayid and they seemed to point that there was more to it then the obvious answer (of course). Also announced the season finale will be May 23rd the day before my birthday, a nice way to end my 20's.

Anyone notice that Sayid's passport said Iran, not Iraq?
Defiantly seem to have a parallel universe theme going this year.

Hurley aslo said he was the luckiest person alive, and Shannon wasn't with Boone. Oh, and the fact that the island was underwater.

Dont forget Jack seems to believe in miracles now and Desmond is in a plane when he should be pushing numbers on a island that is underwater. See it all makes sense now.

yeah, thats what i kept thinking tonight too. i hope they don't go that route actually. i'm not too crazy about that angle, even though that seems what it's inevitably coming too. still a good opener for the season though. i'm interested in the jacob vs. smokey storyline more than anything

I agree to a certain extent, you need an end game and Smokey vs Jacob is it, but this show started on the strength of the characters not the mythology and i believe this setup still gives the viewers the best of both worlds. Im solidly happy with the start of this season.

Few things....

Who were the Temple people? They seem completely different from The Others, but they obviously have a connection with Jacob. Also, the stewardess that was with them was an Other at one point IIRC.

Juliet saying "it worked" must have something to do with the whole parallel universe thing that was going on. I'm really confused on that.

I really hope we find out more about Richard.

The only thing I don't get is if Sayid IS in fact the vessel for Jacob then why would he wake up and say "What happened?"

I was wondering if when they die they some how become one with their counterpart in the real world?!

I don't know it hurts my brain to even try to begin to understand at this point.

One things for sure... Sayid is very important to the "Temple Dudes"

Obviously Sayid is very important to the "Temple Dudes"

Probably because he's a vessel. Remember, the guy in dark clothes pretended to be Locke for a while.

I started reading this thread and thought, "These guys are morons; they sound like they've ever even watched the show!" Then I noticed the thread started in 2008!

Dang Wm. I had you pegged as an oldster. Well, being in possession of an old soul anyway.

Evil locke made a comment to Richard about good to see you again brother and not in chains this times.

Evil locke also said something about having had been cast out.

These point to God and the devil or Greek mythological gods, to the titans. Lots of places to take this yet as always.

Free will is playing out a lot in this.

This show is about the battle light and dark/good and evil. It's like a giant game of backgammon. Remember in the first season in one of the first episodes Locke taught Walt how to play backgammon. Light vs dark/good vs evil has always been a major part of this show. Would not be surprised one bit if the Island was Eden and this show was about God vs Satan.

I don't think Jacob took over Sayid's body, because that's not what the Nemesis did. The Nemesis just took the form of Locke. We know this because Locke's body was still in the coffin.

But then again, maybe Jacob can take over people's dead bodies while the Nemesis just imitates people. Who knows!?!?

an outstanding way to start this final season. still plenty of questions, but at least we know there is a light at the end of the tunnel, we hope. the worst thing they could do is end this with as many questions as it has presented through the years. i hope that is not the case.

I think that Christian is the physical form of Jacob now. In the other time line where the plane did not crash, they lost his body...perhaps it fell out during the turbulence over the island.

I think Sayid is still going to be Sayid. Who knows though, I like where its going.

Im just glad that everyone on the island is in the same time now....less confusing.

there is something in greek mythology about death being in chains. i wonder if that relates to the remark that the evil locke made to richard? alot going on for sure. a ton of possibilities.
