Sawyer seems to be the only person where life was better now than it was before he got to the island. He had a chance for a new, normal beginning and going back to help would end that. Kinda felt sorry for the guy when they all showed back up

Exactly. He relished the leadership he was given and lived up to it, keeping them all safe and secure. He had the leadership role once before on the beach and had everything under control and then when Jack came back it all went down the drain. Sawyer has to be tired of being constantly relegated to 2nd stringer behind Jack. Surprised Kate decided it was better for the whole to blow it up, even though it means jail for her.

As for the Smoke Monster, I wouldn't be surprised to see it end up being what saves everyone. And if Jack/Faraday's plan worked, none of it matters, so I'm guessing it somehow fails. Perhaps Miles is right. They actually caused all the problems.

The parallels to Christianity were abundant in the finale (just finished it tonight...). The black trails at Jacob's "shed" seemed to allude to evil coming for him...Locke seems to be playing the part of the Devil, with Ben possibly being his "Judas?"...the pushing away of the stone...very deep stuff. As always, the LOST writers have managed to write more of the story that just continues to leave us asking even more and more questions.

I thought it was an incredible episode and just wish that we didn't have to wait so long for more!

I don't think Locke could cross the ash unless the circle was broken because the ash was to ward off the smoke monster(Locke) Which is the entity that wants to kill Jacob.

i haven't read anything in here after the finale, but after watching the 2 hr finale I just have to say "holy crap" and "huh?"

i was hoping Locke was for real Locke and not this other dude/Jebus/Devil/pissed off friend/????/i dunno/joe rogan. and do we really have to wait til 2010....S.O.B.'s

Im not afriad to admit the "death" scene with Juliet and Sawyer i had a few man tears pouring down inside of course..

the more i think about the finale the more i am beginning to appreciate it. there's alot of stuff about to go down. it just sucks that we now have to wait 7 or 8 months to find out what it is that's about to happen.

Remember Locke's quote about backgammon from the pilot episode?

"Backgammon is the oldest game in the world. Archaeologists found sets when they excavated the ruins of ancient Mesopotamia. Five thousand years old. That's older than Jesus Christ."

Seems to be quite fitting with Jacob & Anti-Jacob, don't you think?

I haven't watched the new episode but couldn't resist looking. If the "smoke monster" is dark/evil where does it being the death of Ecko come into play. I have thought for some time that Ecko was going to pop up later and be a player to some extent later in the show, even if it is just an appearance.....his role is crucial.

Only Locke and now Jack really think Locke is special. Richard even pointed out that he has visited him several times and never thought he was special. And personally I think Richard knows more than anyone else outside of Jacob and the "anti-Jacob".

Locke thinks he's special because everyone leads him to think that way. Just so they can take advantage of him later.

My question, does the bomb going off set everything back to zero. This effects the future in which Jacob got killed. So, does the loop start again? Things will change in the second go around. My guess is the plane still crashes. Somehow the island has to be involved. As Faraday always said, the future can be changed. Right now these guys are "Lost" in time.

I also don't think it's just a coincidence that Sawyer, Juliet and Kate ran into Rose and Bernard. Don't forget that the island healed Rose.

I know, but the writers never go with what peoples first thoughts are. That is why I said that. Also, the eyes opening up were Jack's from the pilot episode I believe.

Two things:

1. Since Anti-Jacob killed Jacob, anyone think Jacob will take over dead Locke's body, setting up Good vs. Evil Locke in season 6?
Note: Remember Charles Widmore telling Locke he had to get back to the Island for the upcoming war?

2. Could the Losties have been on the Black Rock? It's not very likely, but something to ponder.

Honestly i think it was just a stuck in story for the fans who wanted to know what happened to them, same with Vincent. Them basically saying we are happy where we are and dont want to get involved in any more of your shenanigans tells me they are probably done with for storylines..
