I could only call it a dirty play if I saw into the mind of Jones. I don't think you can assume.
I don't blame the ref at all for not calling that a foul in real time but that's absolutely a dirty play. Dahntay jones knew exactly what he was doing and didn't even bother contesting the shot.
He purposefully slid underneath him. Watch the replay.
Second, Jones defense looks natural, too, as he contests the shot in fairly textbook fashion after initially being back on his heels defending Bryants move off the dribble. His momentum carries him toward Bryant, natural considering those circumstances, and his attention is on Kobes release and the shots arc.
No logic in this post.
If Kobe doesn't kick his leg out to try and get even more separation it probably doesn't happen in the first place.
Sometimes athletes get hurt in sports. Shocking, I know.
Okay man. Because that's the same as trying to injure somebody
I see that you too can see into the mind of Dahntay Jones. Arguing with you people is pointless.
I'll keep in mind from now on that every time I see a defender jump towards the shooter on a fadeaway jumper, it's a dirty play and an intent to injure. Glad you Kobe fans could set us straight.

Hey look, the very first search result for "NBA fadeaway jumper youtube" hit on Google leads us to the following video, in which Durant hits a jumper and the defender jumps at him, leading his foot to come down vaguely underneath Durant. Had Durant landed on the defender's foot, he probably would have been hurt. Was this a dirty play and an intent to injure too?
