I’d honestly rewind the clock and give Jones another year before taking Pruitt. But my point is, if we’re going to fire Pruitt, than the next guy needs to be a proven winner who can succeed here. We can’t function as a program if we fire Pruitt only to hire a guy who’s going to be fired in 4-5 more years. Napier reads as a guy who will come in, succeed in his first year, then crumble from there. I’m not a fan of Freeze, I feel he’s too flashy in terms of name power but his record is average. However, I’d much prefer a hire like him where I believe he can succeed here, as opposed to someone like Napier that isn’t someone I see as having success.

Interesting that those are the only two names I've heard, so at least a lot of people are in on both. It could be a good sign, hopefully whoever it is, everyone can get behind him and people can work together to make it work one way or another.

I completely and totally made that up. Whole cloth. Googled "nicest neighborhoods in Knoxville" and used the first that came up (Oakwood). Googled "private schools in Knoxville" and found Christian Academy almost immediately. Thought that was a nice touch with Freeze's appeal to faith through his prostitute scandal.

I honestly thought I was being so completely, over-the-top obvious that my trolling would be transparent to even the most casual readers. I mean, every time I've posted in this thread, I included the ludicrous "within 24 hours. Or 48 or 72. Or maybe a week. But definitely by the end of ___(insert any month)___." Come on! Reading that, you have to absolutely HAVE to say, "this is FOS." Have to.

Freeze isn't coming. Because there is no coaching vacancy. And won't be one until at least the 2021 season, if things don't go well.

So just hang out, wait and see what shakes. This thread is no different than the Gruden ones, except that the Gruden ones were full of more cheer and nicer people, weren't founded on negativity.

I frankly believe most of the folks in this thread are just having fun. Almost everyone. Including the fella who started it (though I think he was serious about it at the time).

It has become obvious to all that Jeremy Pruitt will remain the head coach of the Tennessee Volunteers, barring some unexpectedly distasteful outcome to the ongoing recruiting violations investigation. So we're really just kicking around here. It's almost like a role-playing group, where we pretend a coaching change is imminent, and then play our parts in that light.

I only feel bad for the very few who think this is real and serious.

Yes there's a degree of having fun, but Jeremy Pruitt is being fired. In sorry you want to live in your "woe is us, nothing good could ever happen got the UT football program" mode, that's fine. Do your thing. Get why you believe that but time is up for Pruitt
