You're reading what I say wrong. A fanbase united can abosuletly force change. That's my whole point. But you have many individuals within the fanbase that have the mindset that the fans opinion doesn't matter.
If by fans you mean big money boosters then you are correct. It is a myth that the average fan, aka Volnation, has any influence. If they did Pruitt would have been fired and Gruden would have been hired twice. The Auburn fanbase stopped the admin from hiring Steele. Our fanbase stopped us from hiring Schiano.
You just need a United fanbase. So I disagree completely
Auburn boosters were influenced by an anti-Steele coordinated effort by fans last week. It was reported by mainstream sports media. Same thing happened with Schiano. It may not happen often but it can happen. If by fans you mean big money boosters then you are correct. It is a myth that the average fan, aka Volnation, has any influence. That makes sense, and I agree he was never coming here. I guess I read it to mean since the fans wanted Gruden, and "if" they got what they wanted, Gruden would be here.My point was that the poster I was responding to his notion that if the fans got what they wanted we’d have Gruden. My point was that even if fans got what they wanted, he wasn’t coming here. Ever.
If Trey isn’t careful no one will come.It seems like Trey Wallace is drilling down on what this investigation entails. He’s saying it’s a lot worse than paying players to have a good time on recruiting trips. He is adamant that his ass is about to get pinned to the wall.
I don’t really know on what authority he’s saying any of this. I really don’t want to say he doesn’t have much credibility, but I don’t think the guys over at fan run radio really say much without hyping up a potential coaching change.
Most of Fanrun is satire & commentary, but Trey is actually the serious reporter there.
