The Official Indianapolis Colts Thread

Cowher would be my top choice. Reasons 1 experience with building strong defense. 2. Has the stature to disagree with Polian.

But in my opinion, reason 2 is exactly why he won't be considered.

I agree on Cowher, maybe it's not completely out of the question especially seeing Bill Polian is taking a lesser role every day and Chris Polian is taking over more decisions.

Its not clear to me how much decision making is Chris vs Bill Polian. Kravitz at the Indy Star suggests Chris is the problem but he doesn't know either how much is going thru Bill. Ultimately, irsay will have to decide who has responsibility for the rebuilding project, the gm or the head coach.

As happens pretty much every season, it's being rumored Dallas Clark is out for the season, time to cut him also.

No way, man. Step back from the ledge!

He gets hurt every season, usually about mid way and misses the rest of the year. I am tired of these guys who can't stay on the field. He is due I think almost 8 mil next year, I would rather save that and get someone who can play all the time.

How Obvious is it that the colts are tanking?

You mean you think they are losing on purpose? Sadly, I don't think that they are. Without Manning and no other injuries they might have 1 or 2 wins right now, but they've had too many injuries. They have 1 TE on the roster right now and he can't block to save his life, and that's in addition losing Gronkowski, the only fullback on the roster.

On top of that you have Bullitt, Brackett, and Foster out for the season. Constanzo, Diem, Addai, Angerer, etc. have all missed games as well.

Every season is like this, I can't understand how it happens every year. Brackett and Clark should be cut

As if we needed a reminder of how bad the Colts suck this season, they have moved the Colts vs Pats game out of the Sunday night game and into the noon time slot. I am happy over this, I don't want the whole country to witness a slaughter.

I'm convinced that the Patriots are the same as the Colts now. If Brady pops an ACL again they are complete garbage, especially on defense.

Two words that adequately contradict this point, IMO: Bill Belichick

Mallett and Hoyer are also worlds better than Painter.

That being said, the Pats would struggle to be a .500 team without Brady. They wouldn't be 0 for 9 (or 8 whatever) though.

I can't disagree with that. .500 sounds about right.

How funny would it be for Mallett and Luck to turn into Brady vs Manning part 2?

Think he's referring to how poor their defense has been this season (& they've been winning by scoring alot)

But however, I don't think their defense was built solely along the philosophy of "it's ok, our offense is great and scores alot of points!" ( alternatively "We just have to stop them 2 times a game and that's it, our QB can put it out of reach")

The thing about the Pats is they still have a solid O line. Currently their offense puts up a lot of points, but does not possess the ball which leaves the D vulnerable. I'm willing to bet they'd run a lot more if Brady were gone, and that would change the defensive results. The dynamic of the team would change a lot. For sure they win less, though. They average 4.5 YPC, good enough for 10th in the NFL.

Blow it up and start over. And PLEASE get a new front office and a new coaching staff. Current group is in WAY over their heads.
