The Official Indianapolis Colts Thread

More valuable to the teams that hold them, though. Asking price for a high pick should go WAY up. Less risk, more value.

Right but he was making it sound like before the rookie cap it would have been easy to trade down from 1

Uhhhhhh, pretty sure every #1 pick ever could've been traded down for a nice set of picks. If teams weren't willing to trade up to pay Sam Bradford something close to $70M guaranteed, how in the F did Bradford negotiate that price?

You're absolutely right. Over the last decade, before the rookie cap, no teams wanted to trade up for high picks because of the crazy amount of guaranteed money. Why would anyone want to trade up to spend $43 million guaranteed to Jamarcus Russell? Let the Raiders handle that.

Because that's just the way that screwed up system worked.

Yeah, I don't think that makes sense. Teams loved to own the #1 pick, so why would they not be willing to ever trade up for it?

Either way, the #1 pick has more value today, to be sure. It's not nearly as financially risky.

You guys gotta play the Steelers on Sunday night football this weekend? Ouch.

Maybe the Colts will shock everyone like the Titans did in week 2 when they beat the Ravens. Personally, I thought the Titans were going to get blown out and I feel the same way about the Colts this weekend. Hopefully you guys don't get blown out on primetime

Oh it's gonna be great. Starting Rashard Mendenhall on my fantasy team. I do wish they had the flexibility of college scheduling. This would have been a good Sunday night game if Peyton were healthy.

I actually think the Colts match up pretty well against the Steelers. The Steelers have a very poor OL and if Freeney and Mathis can create some turnovers or put enough pressure on Ben, he'll throw some picks. It all revolves around the OL's ability to protect Collins.

I'm not predicting a W, but I don't think the Steelers are as good this year as they have been in years past.

Anyway, yeah. I've been smoking crack today, too.

That's assuming the Steelers have to pass the ball to win the game.

This could get ugly, I believe with Peyton this game would be ugly with the Colts rolling them but I don't see any way Collins could lead this team to a victory over the Steelers. They will run the ball a ton and probably through a good bit of screens to keep Mathis and Freeney of Ben. Plus it's hard to beat anyone when all you can do is kick FGs, they moved the ball well on Cleveland but kept having to settle for 3, that usually comes back to bite you. I am glad I finally get to watch my Colts instead of having to listen to the game on the internet but it might not be pretty.

Brackett, Gary LB Shoulder DNP
Bullitt, Melvin DB Shoulder DNP
Clark, Dallas TE Foot DNP
Collins, Kerry QB Shoulder LP
Diem, Ryan OG Ankle DNP
Eldridge, Brody TE Knee FP
Foster, Eric DT Hamstring DNP
Freeney, Dwight DE Abdominal DNP
Manning, Peyton QB Neck Out
Mathis, Robert DE Chest DN
Moala, Fili DT Ankle DNP
Sims, Ernie LB Knee Out

And there is the usual long injury report for the most fragile organization in football. I think Bullitt is out, Brackett and Sims are out. Clark might be out.

Dadgum... After two weeks?!?!?

That's unbelievable.

Dadgum... After two weeks?!?!?

That's unbelievable.

It's typical for this team, and for the Colts once a player is on there he will be on it all season. With all these injuries (as usual), I believe I can firmly say: With the first pick in the 2102 NFL draft the Indianapolis Colts select............

After finally watching Indy for a full game I gotta say you guys need to sign David Garrard. Even though he isn't great he is a 100 times better than KFC and Painter let's face it.
