The Official Denver Broncos Thread

Jackson is easily worth $7 mill for 2 years. Compared to what some backs are paid he's a bargain

We probably won't get to find out because Richardson probably won't go to the Rams. But I'd be interested to see if he could get traded or if they would cut him, and how much he would get. I don't think he's worth much money as is ($3M/yr), but he could be resurgent in the right system on a contender. As is, he could be replaced by a third rounder for less money.

If available, I see the Broncos being a front runner. They have the cap space, and it fits their "win now" direction.

Resurgent? He's had his 2nd, 3rd, and 4th best seasons, yardage wise, the last 3 years.

Interesting. I guess I always remember him from that 2006 season. Turns out he's had a really mediocre career outside of that year.

I guess Knoxville will be showing Bronco games instead of Colts games now every Sunday.

Mediocre? 7 straight 1,000 yard seasons (only his rookie year wasn't). Should easily elapse 10,000 this year. Are you sure we're talking about the same player?

Good article. Highlights:

Wide receiver Eric Decker, who has caught more passes from Manning than anyone else over the last month thanks to a series of workouts at local high schools, said the four-time MVP's passes were precise and powerful.

"I'm not his doctor, I don't know how to speak on his health, but catching balls from him, it looks like there's nothing wrong to me," Decker said. "He's throwing great balls, he's getting the work in just like we're getting the work in, knocking the rust off. I see no issues at this point."

Decker said Manning is making everyone around him better because of his famous work ethic, and cornerback Champ Bailey said that goes for Denver's defense, too.

Bailey sent Manning numerous texts during the quarterback's whirlwind free agency tour pleading with him to come to Denver.

"Why? Because he's an amazing player and his leadership alone is bar none the best in the league," Bailey said. "You need a guy like that on your team, and where I want to go, what I want to do toward the end of my career is win a championship and I feel like he gives us the best chance."

Bailey said he puts Manning at the top of the QB list because of the "way he breaks down a defense and pretty much tell you what you're in and half the guys on defense don't even know what we're doing. It's sad but true. You try to trick him as much as possible, but for some reason, somebody always tips him and he knows, he just knows."

Can anybody confirm whether or not Wolfe can play both end and nose? He looks like he's capable.

Broncos use a 4-3, right? Wolfe is best as a 3-tech in a 4-3 defense. He probably could play 1-tech in a 4-3 and 5-tech in a 3-4 too. Probably not you you want playing nose tackle in a 3-4 though. I think he's a really good pick for Denver. He'll be a solid interior pass rusher.

Weren't the Broncos supposed to have 4 picks yesterday? I thought they had 6 picks in rounds 2-4, and I'm only seeing 2 picks in the 4th round for them.

Kirk Cousins goes right after Denver in the fourth. Wished they would have taken James, Hayward, or somebody else in the second and picked up a QB today.

Dang, that'll make me look like a genius among the local Broncos fans here. I told people Jackson would be a guy Denver would likely consider.

I like Malik. I could see him rotating into DT during passing downs to get more penetration. And he could rotate in for Doom during running downs.

Other than that, I would've drafted differently. It's not like I think all these guys would bust, but based on who we drafted and who was available I would've went:

2. Reyes
2. Hayward
3. Lamar Miller (keep the 87)
4. Omar Bolden
4. Greg Childs (traded away)

I'm fine with Bolden, Blake, and Jackson.

But it never goes how you want it. I'd give it a C though as is.

Broncos need to grab Chris Polk. If Hillman works out (which I'm skeptical of), then Polk would be a good compliment.
