This game against the pats shouldn't really be much of a contest but it probably will be. Denver is much better than New England on both sides of the ball. New England, much like last year, is scratching and clawing for wins.

Btw, the NWS in Boston is forecasting a high of 42 with a 40 % chance of rain and snow with a low of 34 that night. It will be Manning's first cold weather test of the season.

Advanced stats are pretty limited in football. They have some interesting numbers, but the season is too short to draw reliable conclusions. A good NFL career is the length of one NBA season.

Just not enough observations for solid science.

My own personal analysis...I would say he's top 3 corner all time, when you consider he was all-around, and played at a high level for so long. Ranking him strictly on cover skills, top 10 and maybe top 5.

BTW, I've watched Champ play more than any corner, having lived in the Denver market, so naturally I saw him get burned a lot, because everyone gets burned. I didn't see as much of Deion, so I never saw him get burned (I was a teenager, and relied mostly on highlights).

My analysis of Champ is affected by that, especially since I saw more of the latter part of his career.

I find it weird that the Spygate thing never comes up when talking about Brady's legacy. Sure, he's still one of the best ever, but is it not worth a mention that he might have been helped by that.

It is weird. I like the saying "first impression is the last impression". Brady is still widely viewed as the most clutch QB, but his playoff record is mundane the last 10 years and he's 0-2 in the SB. These are his best years, and not only that, he's had his best teams. 2007 might be the best team all-time, and they blew it against an OK Giants team.

So he only won it all during the spygate years when he was more of a game manager.

He's still Tom Brady and arguably the best QB ever, but these things need to be considered. His SBs are overrated in the evaluation of his play.

I don't feel good about this game in the NE blizzard. I hope the Denver can get the ground game going.

His SB wins are nowhere near overrated.
