The Official Denver Broncos Thread

Funny thought...I believe Cromartie had 3 picks in a game against Manning like 5 years ago (half the Colts offense was injured and it was raining...atrocious game). I feel like Manning has made a point to pick on him ever since. Today was a massacre.

Peyton threw 6 interceptions that night. Still had a chance to tie it at the end but Vinatieri missed the game tying field goal.

And Peyton will break Favre's record in two weeks on Sunday Night Football in primetime against the 49ers at home. Perfect setting

Worst game ever. The Vinatieri miss was literally like a 27 yard chip shot, too. Most clutch my ass.

I believe the Colts were missing 2 starting OLs, Harrison, Gonzo, Addai, and Clark. It was a catastrophe.

He could very well tie it next week.

My guess is he throws 3 though.

The TD Manning threw that was called back because of the chop block would have given him the record for yards in a game. Crazy.

When he retires, the NFL will never be the same for me again. I highly doubt there will be another player I enjoy nearly as much as I enjoy watching him. I love Eric Berry to death, but watching a Safety is not like watching a QB.

I've watched him religiously since he entered the NFL. It'll hit me hard when he retires. He was my sports idol growing up, and he just happens to still be playing.

What are all the most important factors that go into setting an untouchable record like this? These are the ones I thought of:

QB must be talented
QB must be intelligent
QB must have crazy work ethic for game preparation
QB must have longevity and avoid injury

QB must have a lot of bad defenses behind him
QB must have good weapons (but avoid RBs that dominate the red zone)
QB must have an adequate line for a good portion of his career
Favorable rule changes help
Playing indoors and in nice weather helps

Anything else?

Manning has 2 years left on his contract after this season. He could easily play another short-term contract, but I think Denver will force out Manning and give way to Osweiler. I don't see Manning going to a 3rd team, although he would generate much interest once again.

I don't want him to retire anytime soon. He's playing the best ball of his career.

If Manning can still play and wants to, I wouldn't be surprised to see him on a new team if the situation is right, or if he went to Nashville.

Same for me. The season he had to sit out was one of the most boring NFL seasons. I didn't care a lock what happened.

Denver won't force Manning out. Are you insane? He will retIre when his contract runs out.

Not true. It's not just about play, it's about the future and $. The Broncos are going to get into cap trouble soon, and when they can't put an all-star cast around him, they will fall out of SB contention, and might decide it's time to move on.

If Manning is still.playing at a high level in 2 years, and there are no signs that he wont be, Denver will restructure his contact for a short term.

The only reason I see them forcing him to go to another team or retire is they are putting all their eggs in the Manning basket. Sacrificing their cap future to win now. I'm no expert on how those numbers work out but it appears they are headed for some difficult years by they time Manning'ls contact expires. If that's the case, they may not have a choice.

Since the last game defines the season in the NFL, I guess the Broncos look Super Bowl bound again huh?

But seriously, I don't know if the team was just excited about Manning getting the record or what but they looked like the improved team that was talked about all summer.

If they beat SD they will have gotten through the brutal portion of their schedule 6-1, and if they do that it will be pretty safe to say they are the best team in the league.

I am excited to see how the defense plays against SD. Rivers is playing as good as anyone right now. It's going to be a great test. Go Broncos!
