Good thing OT victories don't count more than regular victories. Manning's been able to put a lot more games out of reach.

I'm amazed that Tebow played in 4 OTs in just 14 starts.

Not to take away from Tebow's accomplishments, but to put it into perspective, he led the Broncos to OT wins against the Dolphins(6-10), Chargers(8-8), Bears(8-8), and, of course, the Steelers(12-4).

I still have yet to see this improved offense. Last year with Decker they were MUCH more explosive. Should have never let him and Moreno go.

Hmmmm....they scored more against Seattle than last year, and it was on the road. :)

Moreno and Welker missing are the biggest problem. Not Decker.

Have you seen Sanders play? He's easily been their best WR. It's hard to say they'd have looked better with Decker (who is averaging 3.5 receptions per game).

BTW, Chiefs have a pretty good D, Seattle (#1 in scoring D), and Sunday they got Cardinals (#2 in scoring D). Pretty brutal stretch to start the season.

Tough schedule altogether, this season (last year wasn't bad):

In the Super Bowl Peyton could have had Jerry Rice and Michael Irving and the score would still have probably been the same.

The only advantage Sanders has over Decker is speed. Decker is just as good at route running, he is stronger and bigger. Decker is a much better target in the red zone. Sanders is good but one of the main reasons he looks good is because Thomas is having an unusually slow start. Thomas is usually much better than Sanders.

Regardless, all I have been hearing is how Sanders is a huge upgrade over Decker and the offense will be better. So far that is nowhere near the case. I know it will get better but it's just fallacious to call this offense anywhere near last years.

KC's defense is 15th in the NFL so it's around the middle of the pack. Nothing that special. Their pass defense is 12th. Last year the Ravens had the 12th ranked pass D and Peyton lit them up. KC was missing Berry this year and the offense still sputtered. If you can't see how this offense has taken a step back without Decker and Moreno then I don't know what to tell you.

So far, Sanders seems to have better hands than Decker. Decker had 6 drops last year by week 4.

Did anyone really expect them to be as good as last year's record setting offense?

In more concerned about the "improved" defense.

Salary issues upcoming for the team with multiple players needing new contracts to prevent them from becoming free agents: Demaryius Thomas, Julius Thomas, Wes Welker, Terrance Knighton, Orlando Franklin and Rahim Moore are among others.

Plus he did himself no favors by missing a quarter of the season with a suspension for (of all things) substance abuse; that would upset a lot of league front offices and is an easy way to lose your starting spot/get replaced. Any future violation would result in an indefinite suspension, plus he faces increased testing.

And the Broncos probably have some views with regards to McManus after they traded a draft pick for the upcoming draft to get him for this season



The NFL pretty much views kickers as a dime a dozen, though (and in some ways, they're right; there's a lot of guys out there who can do the same job, probably for less).

I think the NFL establishment puts far too much value on FG kicking (because the differences in most kickers is marginal), and not enough value on field position allowed on KOs. There is a huge difference between a guy that can barely kick it 70 yards, and a guy that can kick it 65 yards with hang time.

I had a book that had the average points scored from each yard-marker (rounded to the nearest 5 yards), but I lent it out like 3 years ago. Seems like starting from your own 20, teams averaged 2 points per possession, and starting from your 35 it was like 4 points per possession. Whatever the right numbers were, it was a significant difference.

This is the kind of half that makes me feel like the Broncos should give up on the running game altogether. 6 carries for 5 yards (3 yards on a WR end-around).

This game is unbelievable. Can't believe Broncos have had two 80 yard TDs called back.

Funny thought...I believe Cromartie had 3 picks in a game against Manning like 5 years ago (half the Colts offense was injured and it was raining...atrocious game). I feel like Manning has made a point to pick on him ever since. Today was a massacre.
