The Official Denver Broncos Thread

Yeah, just not in the mood. The loss was too painful. Think 2003 Fiesta Bowl.

It was like everything I thought was wrong with the Broncos, went on steroids for that game.

1. John Fox showed how ridiculously conservative and predictable he is.
2. Manning didn't attack deep enough.
3. Von Miller went from best player to average when it mattered. Oher handled him by himself.

4. Champ Bailey showed his age.
5. The defense had trouble covering the TE.
6. The defense had trouble covering the deep ball. (This one was on steroids BIG-TIME).

Yeah, it stings, but it's over and behind us now. Time to look forward. Off-season adjustments/changes will be made, and barring significant injury we'll be better AND back (again) atop the AFC West in 2013.

I have high hopes for next season. That last game showed we have weaknesses to address, but they can be improved. Manning has a full season with the offense under his belt and it could be even better next year. The defense should still be solid overall with some improvements being made on the D-line and in the secondary. These can be addressed in the draft and free agency, and the only serious free agent players they need to worry about re-signing is Clady and maybe Stokley. This team went farther than I expected this year and the fact that they should be better next year should scare every other team in the NFL.

Insider on Dan Patrick this morning said the reason Von Miller wasn't getting to the QB was because he was the gameplan was for him to key on Rice....ARE YOU F-ING KIDDING ME?!!

I don't believe that. It's too stupid to be true, and frankly it didn't look like it. He just seemed to be not as explosive as usual. My best guess is weather.

denver should draft eddie lacy if he's there when they pick get the big bad ass rb to go with welker and they should be ready for a superbowl run

lacy seems kind of undervalued for how awesome he was last yr and how good he could be in the league

They still need a DT that can penetrate. He can be rotational, but they still need pressure up the middle on passing downs. I'd vote for DT/S for the first rounder. RB in 2nd or 3rd.

I love the addition of Welker! It helps Denver tremendously and takes away Brady's security blanket in NE. And adding Rodgers-Cromartie is a HUGE help to their vulnerable secondary. Next season is shaping up for a Super Bowl run for the Broncos!!

The weakest part of the passing game was Denver's presence in the middle of the field. Stokley was nice, and the TEs were OK, but this is a complete game changer.

Welker gives PM a dump off guy when he has no one is open. Brady, like PM, isn't mobile outside the pocket. Welker is a game changer and I absolutley love this!

Who is a better slot guy in the league than Wes?

This is how I felt after the Dumervil/Fax Machine fiasco...

They've offered him a new contract now though. Hopefully he signs it and this just becomes a bad dream and nothing more.

In 2009, the Seattle Seahawks sent the 37th overall choice to the Denver Broncos for a 2010 first-round pick. This trade worked out great for Seattle. Denver used the 37th pick for Alphonso Smith, who lasted one season with the team. The pick Seattle got from Denver wound up being 14th overall. The Seahawks used that choice to select Earl Thomas, who has become a Pro Bowl safety.

The Broncos made that trade with Seattle in part because they had an additional 2010 first-round choice acquired from Chicago in the Jay Cutler trade. The 49ers' division rival, St. Louis, has an additional first-rounder in 2014. I don't think the Rams will be trading that pick to San Francisco.

This still kills me. McD was definitely a Patriots plant.

Dumervil’s exit could allow the Broncos to re-sign Justin Bannan, Keith Brookings, Dan Koppen, Brandon Stokely – and sign Abraham or Freeney. Maybe Elvis leaving the building won't be so bad.
