You know no big Mullen fan.........but if he had been here instead of at MSU and did exactly what he has at MSU.....he would still be here......where Butch is not.

How is 2-15 against ranked opponents doing something?

You guys are trying to put lipstick on a pig

Remember who we beat in the SECCG in '98? It was MSU

How many times has Mullen been to the SECCG?

How many times has he beat Bama?

He has only one season where he won 6 games in the SEC

He had only 3 seasons with more than 8 wins

He does have 4 seasons where he has won 7 games or less

He does have 4 seasons where he has a losing record in the SEC

He does have an overall losing record in the SEC

maybe. i think he would run laps around what Dooley and Butch did.

i definitely think he could have parlayed it in to some SEC E titles over the last 8 years.

i don' think we'd of won the SEC....but he'd still be here for sure.

the bad news for us, is the East is going to get better, the competitive landscape has, and will continue to, changed.

the boat we missed sailed from port when Urban Meyer left FL, and Richt was still at GA.

like i've said, Mullen isn't my#1 either, but he could be successful here. how successful? i don't know....i do know that it's really hard to determine who definitely will be.

and if there's no gruden at the end of the rainbow, then there's going to have to be a serious decision made on what do we want to be, and how we get there.

i'm not arguing those results. they are what they are.

it's not like he's dragging down a top 25 program to that level. he's brought up the 2nd worst program in SEC history to that level...top 25 finishes, a #1 ranking, 7 consecutive bowl games etc, etc, etc.....

two totally different things.

no one is saying he should be in the cfb HOF for what he's done at MSU.

just that he's not as god awful as you would have people beleive.

People keep blasting Mullen yet give no alternative... Other than maybe Patterson, who is really going to be interested?

Gruden is not coming.

Chip Kelly is not coming.

Frost looks to be going to his alma mater.

Can we stop acting like his team was ever really #1. They were ranked #1 before dropping 3 of 4 games.

Do Butch's high rankings suggest that he accomplished anything?

i just think it's really lazy to just rip off the bare bones #'s on mullen, and just say "see he sucks".

I'm not sure anyone knows right now who would be interested; other than the Norvells and Campbell's....

Maybe Patterson and Mullen would come but not sure anyone knows yet.

You can tell he's a good coach. He does more with less. He would have more resources and better talent here. Does he create a lot of buzz.. no, but he'd be a solid hire.

But Mullen isn't coming either. Mullen isn't going anywhere and is about to have his best team he's ever had at MSU next year.
