Okay, it's time for you to out yourselves, I'm not the only nerd on this board. I have found a new love for characters like the X-Men, Spider-man, and Batman in the last few weeks. The new storylines being put out at the end of the year are quite engrossing.

Seriously now, who's with me?

i fully admit i'm a nerd. Give me Discovery Channel every night of the week and I'm usually happy. But never got into comics, err graphic novels.

I owned up to 300 graphic novels back in the day, if I had no kids and no bills to pay I'd probably get back into it. X-Men, Nick Fury, Avengers, Thor were the main stories I followed.

I used to love comic books. I was an avid reader of X-men back in the early 80's (storylines on which the recent movies were based). Moon Knight was badass, Rom the Spacenight, even the Micronauts.

The last comic I bought was "The Death of Superman" which was a combination of all the comics in that storyline (well, the book is about 4-6 regular comics in length). I've never read it, although it'll never have much value because compendiums like that aren't as collectible as the original, single comics.

I refer to them as comic books, graphic novels are what Frank Miller does.

Comic books? C'mon man, we talkin bout comic books. Not a novel......not a novel......comic books. We talkin bout comic books. Not a novel that you sit and ....and...and read, and dont ever see no pictures. Not a novel that you have to visulize in your head. We talkin bout comic books man.

yeah, I really meant for it to just be a broader topic, but I get what you are saying.

The Death of Superman was an amazing storyline, it's amazing how many people read it, honestly it may have saved the industry.

I haven't read a comic book since I was about 9 years old. I loved the X-Men, Spiderman and G.I. Joe comics though

If you think comics are just for kids, read The Watchmen. It was named one of Time Magazine's 100 greatest novels of the 20th century.

Its been awhile but I used to read X-men, Savage Sword of Conan and I think it was called elfquest?

The Watchmen is amazing. There is a film based on it that is in production right now, can't wait. Alan Moore also wrote V for Vendetta and The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen and one of them ended up being a good flick. We'll see how this one turns out.

Read the first volume of Y: The Last Man last night, another brilliant book. Tomorrow is a big day, next issue of Messiah Complex, Resurrection of Ra's Al Ghul, and the One More Day Spiderman story arc.

Been a long time but Ironman and Spiderman for me. Can't wait for Ironman movie next year

There wasn't a whole lot of interest in this when I first started it, but, I just wanted to say that for any of you that do keep up with comics do yourself a favor. Pick up Captain America #34 and start reading the series, Ed Brubaker is probably the best writer for the medium not named Brian K Vaughan.

I'm scared if I ever do start reading again, I'll have to buy every back issue from the time I left off.

Ed Brubaker killed off Captain America. The man has balls.

Yeah he does. I picked back up a couple of months ago and am really starting to get back into the flow of things. There are some really cool things going on right now. Brubaker has four books at the moment, all of which are spectacular, I credit him with reigniting my interest.

Man I need to dig through some of my old books.

Was the Messiah Complex any good?
