Yep, need to get to the AS break and regroup. I know we're still 9 games up (at the moment) but the starting pitching and the bullpen especially have sucked the past 2-3 weeks.

Did I mention the bullpen sucks?

This team won't win jack with this bullpen. Another blown save for Rondon.

And dear lord they are seriously not good in close games. 4-27 now when they score 3 runs or less. They are terrible at manufacturing runs in clutch situations and rely too much on homers.

My optimism for this team is dropping. They've been subpar about a month now.

From what I've seen of Joe Nathan, I know it's been against AA, but I think he can be a decent setup guy. He said he would welcome any role that would help the team. He has pitched 5 innings with 1 hit, 0 BBs, and 6Ks

Lucky for you - I was just a little kid living in the Chicago suburbs, my dad took us to around 8 games that year and when things fell apart it was just agony up there -

I'm going ahead and saying it; this team isn't making it to the WS. They absolutely suck at manufacturing runs and they suck at close games. This has happened several times this year.

And as good as Bryant is, he's not clutch in those situations.
