The Official Boston Celtics Thread

Idk if there will be much change, I think Doc & Ainge just really want this team to all be healthy at the same time.

I really hope we hold on to Bass for a couple seasons, he has been very very solid during his PT.

He has been a great trade off from Glen. I really wonder if there will be some radical trade of Rondo.

I could def see Ainge trading Rondo, I hope he doesn't b/c I love watching him play for my C's but if it helps us get some talent for the future then I'm all for it.

We are going to have plenty of $ this offseason w/ KG & Ray coming off the books.

Dwight Howard please :)

Rondo was ejected from the game last night, he could be facing suspension.

C's are really struggling right now.

No Rondo, Garnett, and no Bass tonight vs Dallas. Probably going to be ugly.

The C's are just playing some awful awful basketball, they are playing some really bad defense & are turning the ball over way to much.

pretty sad watching them...paul pierce almost looks done.

I agree, it's sad. The Big 3 are def done. Sad thing is, Pierce has 2 more years on his contract. I really hope Ainge doesn't trade him though, he deserves to retire a Celtic.

A few bright spots, Avery Bradley is a very good defender. JaJaun Johnson is good off the bench. I like Bass & Wilcox.

We will have a lot of $ to spend this offseason, hopefully we can attract some superstars to come this summer.

We just gave up 72 pts in the 1st half, that's pathetic. That's not the Boston team we have known the past few seasons. This team is just old & slow. It's bad.

It's not pierce, it's everyone else. Jermaine oneal just sucks, period. I would much rather play stiemsma, Johnson, and bass when he comes back than have jermaine oneals corpse masquerading as a center. I was never crazy about rondo, but I have really soured on him recently. If I'm Danny Ainge, I'm jumping on the first deal that includes a comparable point guard(b Jennings, d collision, Calderon) and another player or draft picks. I'm very anxious to see what Danny does at or before the deadline.

That's awful. Ainge was an idiot for trading Perk.

I don't know, Perkins kinda sucks too. It just appears that way because Krstic plays overseas and Jeff green is out with heart problems. We also got the clippers 1round pick outta that deal too. I don't understand giving jermaine oneal 2 years 12 mil tho. In my best case scenario, for this years team, da trades rondo and another player or a pick for Darren collision and hibbert. Thats my dream but most likely not happening. I'm sure we'll make a trade that makes no sense at the deadline.

Perk didn't suck.

Perk never wow'ed you w/ anything ever but he did his role perfect. Defend, get rebounds, & give a little offense. He was a great great defender. Was perfect for our team.

Dwight Howard struggled really bad against Perk in the playoff.

My point is that it's not like we got shafted in that deal. We did get a first round pick outta that deal, and if Jeff green was healthy, he is a huge asset to this team. A second unit of dooling/bradley, pietrus, green, bass, and Wilcox could actually produce some needed bench points.

I think Danny Ainge has to decide in the first week or two after the all star break what he's gonna do with this team. Either trade rondo for some pieces and try and make one last run, or blow it up and try and move ray, kg, or pierce for younger players or picks. I think ray is most likely to be moved if we blow it up; kg least likely to be moved because of his huge contract. Either way he has to do one of these two IMO. Thoughts?

I understand that we didn't get shafted in the deal but we gave up a quality Center for a very late 1st round pick & a bench role player.

On top of that the C's were in contention for the East last season before Perk was traded, Ainged banked on Shaq being healthy for the rest of the season which was a complete moron move by Ainge, Shaq was never going to be healthy.

I guess I have more of a problem w/ the timing of the trade.

If anyone gets traded it will be Rondo, especially if Avery Bradley keeps developing the way he has.

KG & Ray wont be traded IMO, their contracts are up once the season is over. Ainge will let their contracts expire & use the $ this offseason to try & sign some big time FA's.

Rondo is getting paid $10 million a year
KG is getting paid $21 million a year
Ray is getting paid around $11-12 million a year

We could have plenty of $ to spend, problem is attracting big time FA's to Boston. That has always been a problem in the past.

& Ainge better NOT trade Pierce. He deserves to finish his career in Boston. If he traded Pierce Boston would go nuts on him. As would I.

I can only hope that he will trade rondo. If he trades PP I will be beyond pissed as that is my fav player. I think we are a move or two away from having a chance this year. I also think moving rondo has to be one of those moves.

Most likely?

Unless Kevin McHale is the GM for the Pacers, there is no way that happens.

Didn't get shafted?

You got a guy who had heart surgery and a draft pick that he will surely blow.

A little chatter that Ainge is seriously trying to trade Rondo & Pierce before the trade deadline.
