The Official #6 Tennessee @ #7 LSU Series Thread (Fri. April 25 7:30PM EDT SECNET+) (Sat. April 26 8PM EDT ESPNU) (Sun. April 27 3PM EDT SEC NETWORK)

No doubt. But I’m tired of the fan police acting like we have the worst, most out of line, player hating (literally) fanbase in the country because we complain about errors on a message board immediately after a loss. It’s not as if all of us won’t be back tomorrow because of it. .

The errors have been a problem this season thus far. You will get no argument from me. That said, He’s been asked to play every position this year. I’ve called, as a fan, to settle in somewhere. Not up to me, obviously.

Let’s not make light of the pressure tonight. I’m not making excuses for anyone, but it was a tight game, both ranked high and we were on the road. Not the end of the world, just a baseball game.

Kind of where I’m at just on the other end of the spectrum. Everyone being positive all the time won’t make them win either, and I understand having to vent the frustrations better than anyone. It’s certainly better done here than tweeting the team or god forbid anyone individually.

I’m with ya, don’t have to attack the kid personally though. I’m always gonna try to be positive, It’s not about me, it’s about them.

You just can’t play him at SS or 3B anymore after this. It’s too late in the season to just hope he figures it out. He has the most errors in the SEC. If he can’t play anything else then he’s got to be a DH.

Tony had the stones to take Burns out of the rotation when he was killing us, even though he knew Burns would leave over it. This call shouldn’t be nearly as hard to make. He’s going pro this year anyway so it’s not like you even have to worry about him hitting the portal.

I asked in the Kentucky thread if Curley might have some yips goin on. For a couple of weeks, he was taking a noticeable number of extra steps before throwing. The extra step corresponded with some consecutive bad throws.

I'm new here and almost got kicked out right off the bat and was told you can't mention players in a negative light. There's a lot of that tonight.

Pretty sure anyone playing little league ball is riding the pine for what we saw from the 3rd baseman tonight. Don't understand TV's choices a lot of times this season.

He seems to have his favorites just like Deacon Barnes does. What I mean by that is some players can keep playing poorly and stay in the game. Others, yanked for the same poor play.

Don't know the last time in any sport I saw one person single-handedly blow a game like that.

Welcome to the board.

No one feels worse than the kid. It happens sometimes. Kid made two errors at the wrong time. We have to keep working and get better at every defensive position or we won’t be able to play deep in any tournament

Yikes yikes yikes Ladies and Gentlemen..

Little after 2am central here but still feel I'm of sound mind to drop this little nugget in here.

Something at 3rd needs to change, cant hide behind the "he is a draft eligible player" and the "yeah but he played for Team USA" ******** anymore cause it does nothing for the present.

Gonna sound a little like a Bargo homer post but hey what's new, just really think the kid has the raw, no media boosting his ego talent.

Dude got us through the Amick injury, and when he did he played lights out at 3rd and hit exceptionally well, but was quickly pushed back cause "draft eligible" player was back despite that player going room temp before the injury, and not the most sound 3rd baseman either, okay sure it happens, and to an extent it should happen as a loyalty thing but you cant blindly keep trotting that player out there and expect the player to change cause why would he, he is the "chosen one" and it doesn't matter.

Then this year rolls around and Kilen gets hurt and so shifting in the infield has to happen, Bargo once again has to fill in at 3rd, was a top hitter in the best league in the 2 hole and the middle 4 hitters were a menace for pitchers, was making great sound plays at 3rd, Kilen comes back and things are getting shifted again and back to outfield and DH he goes despite Curley already showing signs of the yips and sloppy fielding.

Long story short is that despite his bat not being the hottest at the moment, he needs to be your 3rd baseman, if bats were truly that big of a deal then AA wouldn't see the field.

Wonder what Tony V does with him today. Just not sure if you can bench or move him after last night without the possibility of really getting into his head. I think he puts him right back out there today. Just flip the switch and get after it again today.

I fell asleep during the Doyle pitching change. 🤣

When i woke this am, I caught up on the game forum.

Sounds like a gut-wrenching, tough way to lose. As my wife was leaving for her work charity kickball tournament (widows and orphans ministry, everyone! Help the widows and orphans!), I caught her up on the game ending.

“Dean had two errors in the 9th? Oh no, that is going to be really tough for that young man.”

Perspective.

That woman gets it, y’all. I do love her so.

As you all wake up today, give thanks for the dawn of the new day (or the afternoon, depending on how long you were up.)

College baseball is the best! Sometimes, that comes with a cost.

NC State Youth Hunter Education Skills Tournament day for the shooting child. Good luck to the Vols today. Bounce back, boys!

I'll be the first to admit that "positivity" is not in my job description on this board, but in this case, something 66 posted made me stop and think for a split second...which is kinda unusual for me. They've moved the kid around quite a bit as needs presented and he's done that without complaint. Kinda makes it hard to really settle in at a hot spot like 3rd. Know he's not been perfect. Far from it. While most folks won't be feeling so warm and fuzzy toward "excuses" after a loss like that, these guys aren't machines. It's sports. Sometimes things just don't go your way. Probably not a popular opinion, but I'll be surprised if Tony V doesn't put him right back out there today. I would. If he wilts...and I don't think he will...you make the move. Something tells me he's dying to get back out on that field and redeem himself.

I missed most of the game, too tired last night. Let's remember, because Tony let's his players be themselves, plus they won the Championship, we have a target on our back. That's why when a team beats us, they "charge the dugout"(??) and act like they've won Omaha.

Apparently, Curley had many errors? IMO, Tony will fix this. Somebody above said Tony was like "Deacon" Barnes in that he has favorites--I'm trying to think of the favorites that Barnes played that shouldn't have been in the game? These guys still want to win games.
