The Official #4 seed Vandy @ #8 seed Tennessee SEC Tourney Semifinal Game Thread (Sat. May 24 11 AM EDT) (SEC Network)

You are correct. I looked up the fielding % yesterday and AA had the EXACT same fielding % (.907) as DC in SEC games. One fewer error on 11 fewer chances. I guess his just haven’t been as “memorable” or costly….
Idk, but Anitgua’s errors haven’t seemed to be as costly during play, I could be wrong.

Would have helped if he wasn't looking back while running. But a pretty terrible decision given the circumstances.

I mean it was bad decision, but I think he makes it if he wasnt looking back the entire time down the line. It felt like he was in slow motion in real time, went back and watched it and he slowed himself down with that crap.

May have run ourselves out of a big inning. I did not see if the third base coach sent him or if the runner did it on his own. If he did it on his own, another bad mistake.

the thing about this team that is different from any other in recent TV years is when they make a mistake, 90% of the time Is just snowballs. this may be the mentally weakest team he has had

I know Vandy is okay at baseball but getting embarrassed by the laughing stock program of the SEC makes this even worse.

Alright I’m done. See yall next week. That was the nail in the coffin for me. HBC says we gotta quit trying to be hero’s and play ball, and then we go and completely ignore it with a move like that.

Supposed to rain all week so it’ll be nice to get a jump start on the grass

I know momentum is a thing, and I’m not discounting that, but…. Here’s another perspective:

We don’t send him. Strike out, pop out. Second and third needing a hit to score and everyone is screaming why didn’t we go?

Looked like the runner at second motioned for him to go.

That’s what Elander is for…you can’t run and not look for a stop sign…dumbfounded.

Yep. I remember being yelled at in little league to not look back for the ball once you've made the decision to go or were sent, you look ahead at where you're going to cut down on anything that might distract you. He was looking almost halfway down the line. Maybe he still gets thrown out but if he's focused full steam ahead and a better slide he's probably safe.

It's so close Tony's living with the bat I guess.
AA can't hit a damn thing

He is a far 2nd on the team with 7 errors, but his two plays this year when he cowboy-ed turning 2 alone, missing the bag and throwing wide, we're big.
