I meant to tell you thank you for sharing this video.

Haven’t got around to watching it as my 3 month old would rather throw stuff than watch videos on old guns at the moment

Glock 43x, slide works slide, Glock internals and small parts, Swampfox Sentinel, AmerGlo sights, talon pro grips, 3D printed magwell, shield mags, stock trigger, Ghost bar, polished striker could use a scallop undercut but so far seems quite a bit better than stock.

I prefer the Vector rmsc pattern which is currently on my Taurus (much larger window and shake awake as well). So I’ll probably change them out.

Okay, do not flame me, because it's my first time into this thread, and I have an earnest question. Point: I have a Glock 19 and am proficient. It was a gift, and I like having it for personal protection. Problem: Have developing issues with carpal tunnel syndrome. I am right hand dominant. Question: What comparable handgun (with magazine) can I get that is lighter in weight? I've tried to research this on internet, and it is confusing. Thought someone might know from personal experience. Thanks.

Any of your micro compacts will be lighter. Sig P365, Springfield Hellcat, etc. Both are at least 10+1 capacity.

My wife loves her Smith & Weston MP 380 EZ. The side is super smooth and easy.

Smith shield EZ in 9mm seems like the logical choice…….especially if you have any problems using and manipulating the Glock.

The EZ isn’t going to be much smaller than the Glock but it is considerably thinner. The EZ (in 9mm) won’t really be any lighter than the Glock however it would be a bit lighter considering ammunition……..simply because the Glock holds almost twice as much.

if your problem is simply the “weight” a Smith Shield EZ 9mm really isn’t the answer. The 380 EZ will give you about 5 ounces lighter.

If you thought about that route…….I would highly suggest the Smith & Wesson Shield EZ in the new 30 super carry. With this you get the “weight” of the 380, but you get a bit more power and you get 10 rounds instead of 8……..all for about the same price…….ammo can be had for about the same as 380 and in many cases cheaper.

you could always go to a smaller platform like a subcompact…….however given your situation (right now) I wouldn’t go real small like a p365 or a hellcat or something like that…….they will be much more snappy which will be much Harder on your hands……thus causing you not to like shooting it and leading to less practice…….not to mention being less proficient simply because you cannot “handle” it as well as something a bit larger.

Two other “options” might be the Mossberg mc2c or the Arex delta.

Both of these are comparable in size to the Glock 19 however both are just a fraction smaller and both are a bit lighter. The real benefit “could” be both are a good bit thinner. If you have large hands this probably will not matter; however if you have average or smaller hands this could benefit you a lot given your situation. Because those are thinner you could get a good grip without stretching your hand as much and with less pressure…….thus helping “aching” hands.

Both of those are the thinnest and lightest double stack handguns of that size that I know of…….ive owned both and their both find defensive firearms.

Lastly you could try something like the Kahr p9. It’s a single stack 9mm it’s not big but it’s not tiny and it’s very light weight at less than 17 ounces………would be similar to the Shield EZ in 380……but would be an ounce and a half lighter and 9mm……..but again you would want to make sure your hands could manipulate it and could handle the recoil without pain.

just my opinion.

Hey, kiddiedoc: are you really a doctor? Saw an ortho guy on Tuesday about my wrist. He did a physical exam (painful) and injected it with Celestone. He should be relieved I didn't have my Glock on me.

Juanita I had that problem many years ago. I tried all their stuff, shots and therapy and nothing really helped.

Eventually I had the carpal tunnel relief surgery and that definitely did the trick…….for me at least.

The surgery was no big deal, very little pain or really even much discomfort after surgery. After a couple months my hands were back to normal.

Over the years I’ve had 6 different surgeries on my hands and now days it’s like nothing ever happened…….they don’t really bother me at all.

Not saying surgery is “for you”……..I don’t know……but if it comes to that…….I wouldn’t worry, seriously for me it wasn’t really a big deal at all.

I am. I know many of the local Orthopods. Are you in Knoxville?

And, yes, they do like to inflict pain! (From my own experience)

If something is affecting pull in trigger finger, I would think a lighter trigger would be more useful than a lighter gun. Also, a lighter semi auto handgun is gonna bounce more and require a stronger grip. Not knowing all the symptoms, I'd be looking for a 1911 style. You can probably find a professional/officer in 9mm made in aluminum or some other lightweight metal. The Kimber micros, Springfield EMP (pricey), or Colt Mustang (only available used) are another option if you just want smaller. If it's not for concealed carry, I would not go small.
