LGS had six SA HRT 1911s in 9mm in their online shop yesterday afternoon. I was actually thinking about taking my SASS .357 Vaqueros over for a partial trade. All six were sold by this morning. Wasn't meant to be.

1911’s in 9mm are magazine critical. The issue is the nose of the round wants to nose dive into the feed ramp. Stick with good quality mags, Wilson, cobra, nighthawk and you’ll never have a problem. A full size 1911 in 9mm is a Cadillac.I was actually looking at that online. I like what I've read but would really like to handle the checkering before I try to have one ordered. It would definitely be an upgrade over my SR1911. I'd been toying with getting 1911 in 9mm with an eye towards using it for edc after I break it in.
You need a 2011 not 1911 its a double stack 9mm Best Concealed Carry Pistols: Staccato 2011®I was actually looking at that online. I haven't either outta my price range haha. Probably similar to the 226, cz 75, and hi power. They just can't really get any thinner with a double stack magThose look nice. I did look at a Dan Wesson DWX recently, but I did not see much advantage over the P226 I've already got. Have not tried an actual 2011. It would probably come down to how thin it is.
Do you consider this to have been a worthwhile purchase? I looked at one today, different model, Commander size. Used, but still unfired. I'm see-sawing. For the same price I could get a Dan Wesson Specialist .45 and a Sig P210 9mm, both new. Not saying it's definitely and either or, but I've got the fever pretty bad.
If you can get a Les Baer at a reasonable price, as a Les Baer owner myself, I’d say jump all over it.Do you consider this to have been a worthwhile purchase? I do. I love the pistol. Never had a failure to fire. It's by far the tightest lockup of any pistol I've ever handled. Every part is hand fitted. Is all that necessary for a reliable carry pistol? I don't know but it sure gives me confidence it will do what it's supposed to if needed.Do you consider this to have been a worthwhile purchase? I’ve had this one since 2000 and I’ve put thousands upon thousands of rounds through it. Only changed the recoil spring and the extractor. Hands down the best 1911 I own. View attachment 302792
It was so tight it literally felt like one piece of solid steel. And 20 some odd years later and all the rounds down the pipe it’s about the same as when I bought it new. It has tons of wear but it’s the one pistol I’ll never sell or trade. I need to get it refinished.I'm a big fan of the Thunder Ranch edition. I actually prefer the battle sights it comes with.
Did you buy it new? How tight was the slide to frame lockup when you first got it?
