The Official 2nd Amendment Appreciation Thread

So...here's the latest update from The Georgia Old Folks Gun & Beer Club:

- Ordered the Real Avid ProPack Cleaning kit for my AR('s). I've got a decent "this & that" kit, plus the standard Mil-Spec green thing I keep in the case, but this kit seemed to have every bell & whistle needed to keep my AR('s) shiny and happy, so I bought it on Amazon. Added in some Hoppe's lube and gas tube (pipe) cleaners.

GV?

-

I bought a similar RA kit and love it, but mine didn't include the scraper. I am pretty sure that combo wasn't available at the time. Great value if you paid what I am seeing on Amazon right now. I am about to pay 20 for the scraper alone.

Real Avid kit (and mat) arrived. They will make cleaning easier. Good choice.

2nd AR6721 arrives tomorrow. FFL will inspect and accept if as advertised, then call me.

Rock ships Friday. Coming home with Trijicon sights, new mainspring, new guide rod and spring, and a "tightening up". Armscor folks impressed me. I got to talk to the guy working on my gun, and he told me "You sent us a good gun, and we're sending a better one back." Complimented me on sending him a spotless gun. They test fire before they return, and he told me I'd be really pleased with it when I get it back. Obviously, he's never seen me shoot...lol.

Wife's stepfather passed away this morning. Thanks for the prayers. Not trying to down the thread, but I had been updating, so...there it is. He'd been ill for a long time. Wife will go up next week and spend a couple of weeks with her Mom. Circle of life goes on, as always.

Thanks to GV and me, I'm so broke I can't pay attention. Gonna have to sit tight for awhile until I build the savings account back up. But I'm in a good spot, particularly with regards to my AR('s) in terms of a great patrol rifle; a backup platform; mags; and ammo. Took me years to finally start realizing the full potential of the AR platform, and now that I have...well, I'm broke. But happy.

Roughly 3 weeks until we head north to the Holy Land...the Smokies. Counting the days already.

And from what I'm hearing, we might actually have a football team this year. 'bout time.

Keep Safe, and Go Vols.

Sorry for your loss. My prayers for the comfort of your entire family.

I think that depends on the dog...

Ha hes a standard poodle. We have to have hypoallergenic dogs. And while we looked at all the other poodle mixes they have to have 75% poodle to confirm they will be hypoallergenic. Name is moose. Its hard not to like a dog named moose

So...check went out today. FFL info sent. Now we wait. It's a Gunbroker.com purchase, and a highly-rated seller, but this is my first internet purchase, so we'll see.

Haven't heard from Armscor about my Rock. We're at 5 weeks on a 4-6 week job, so I'll give it another week before I get antsy.

Between me and GV, I'm afraid to total up what I have spent on guns/ammo/accessories over the past 6 months. Big number.

Fortunately, management has been very understanding.

Internet purchase? Sh** man, it’ll be delivered to your door. No paperwork, no background check.......

Yep, and it came with a zillion rounds of untraceable laser-guided explosive ammo, and a bump-thingy that raised the rate of fire to Phalanx CIWS levels.

Seller threw in half a dozen 500 round magazines. Like to never got them through the front door....

Headed to Sig Sauer to do some work.

Y’all want me to pick anything special up? 😎

One of these would be nice. TIA

A dozen or so legacy P225 mags if they have them.

A 716.

A spare 1911 XO. And another Tacops. A Match Elite Stainless if you have the time.

Grab a P220 and 227 for InVol

I’ve made my list and checked it twice.

We are going in to clean their testing ranges. I’ve been told there are roll around carts with various guns on them.
I’ll see if I can get pics as well.

You might want to hold off. I'm sure others will chime in with a selection or two.

I'm sure GW could use a M400 Elite Ti. Lord only knows he needs it to counter that "ermahgerd, COLT with fixed front site base and no rails!" feelings he has.

No rails? Wtf? Is he like 80 years old??

That should be an interesting day. Enjoy.

Honestly I would be careful about taking pics on the floor or around equipment. Ask first. There may be proprietary things they don’t want photographed.

It’s a front office pic and I did ask before doing so

On another note: I have never seen so much ammo in my life. There is enough here to make GV blush.

The actually manufacture the ammo here. Truck loads of any and all of the major calibers.
