The Official 2nd Amendment Appreciation Thread

Yeah, I know. I got one a year or so back and he showed his colors.

He's ridden me like a rented mule over mine.

Oh, don't act like you don't enjoy it.

It's a niche caliber and effective for what it does. In another universe, it'd become the .30 Carbine for the military. A Mk.18 in .300 Blackout would make for a dandy PDW in my opinion and replace the current pistols many are issued or even some M4s. Parts commonality alone could make it an economic option. For the REMF types, it'd be ideal. Longer range than a pistol, but intermediate range for defensive duties only.

Of course, you'd have some chowderhead blowing an M4 up in his or her face from trying to shoot a .300 out of a 5.56 with bullet setback. So, maybe not a great idea.

GV, gonna be up in the Holy Land next month. Our annual week in the Smokies. Always involves a trip to UT, and the huge store over in the Student Center, which is "UT Gear Central".

You got any requests, or would you rather if upper management picks out a Speedo in your size?

:)

Anyone have a favorite stock for their AR? Or AR sized buffer tube?

I tend to think the B5 System SOPMOD or Bravo is the bomb. If I need a slim design, the Magpul CTR fits the bill.

I still have a UBR Gen 1 that I want to put on a precision build rig eventually. Eventually...

Vltor is my preference. Purchased an ARM stock for the 308. Going back to the A1 length and saving the clubfoot for the 308 SBR.

Building it or complete?

Just the upper, complete. We rent out space in the building to small custom shop, guy ordered both awhile back and never showed to pick them up so I took one and his brother took the other.

Details, details, details.

Give us something to drool over.

We're good, but that store has a yuuuuuge selection of stuff, including stuff you can't find anywhere else. So I thought if you were in the mood for a coffee cup, t-shirt, coozie, key fob...whatever, I'd scoop it up while we were there. Trust me, I drop some serious cash in there every year.

Anything but the checkerboard overalls. Those are the most god-awful abominations I have ever laid eyes on.

Management and her sister are on their way to PA. Step-father in hospital; not doing good. This on top of her father, who lives in the house behind us, and has lung cancer. Sometimes life is tough.

So I'm guarding two houses, seven cats, a German Sheperd, her dad, and her sister's 11 year-old son for the next week or so. And mowing two yards. And cooking. And cleaning. And trying to figure out how to keep a hyperactive 11 year-old entertained. And trim the sheperd's nails. And run a Marine class at work.

Anybody got a coupon code for Yeungling?

So if y'all would, put the family in your prayers this weekend. I'll keep you updated, and maybe even find time Sunday afternoon to take the youngster for some ballistic therapy. He loves that AR.

Toodles...

Toodles...

You have my prayers Wolf. Hang in there.

Let me have it.

I'd suggest a lower with the stock we've been talking about, the Magpul UBR and the A5 buffer system. Fits like a fixed stock, but is adjustable and works with a rifle length gas system. It will help tame that musket length a tad.

As for triggers, the Geissele SSA-E will do any precision rifle justice.

Mags, I'd visit Alexander Arms and pick up the Grendel mags made specifically for them.
