The Official 2nd Amendment Appreciation Thread

Remember, Colt didn't stop sending their 6920 line with a flip up BUIS until about two or three years ago. Continued to send the carry handle as a standard part.

And remember that complicated Rogers stock they slapped on for a while?

Yes, completely unwise decisions on Colt's part over the past...40 years. They've tried to sell on a name alone when others are completely outperforming them like a mother.

Let Bravo Company buy them and sell as a subsidiary.

I wish someone would buy them and forget about advancing anything. Go back to producing great 1911’s much like that 1966 1911 I bought a while back. That’s a hell of a pistol, it’s perfect as is, no need for anything. Go back to producing rock solid AR15’s again and stay in their lane.

They should be able to sell on their name alone. They brought the 3 of the most iconic American firearms to the civilian market, the colt single action army, the 1911, and the AR15. Sell that and make millions. Alas, they continue to wallow in the muck and take one of America’s great gun companies names with them.

I am really thinking of 'pulling the trigger' on that M1. Just trying to figure out how to sell it to the missus. It does look like the CMP has a good deal.

Honestly I would hold the line right now. See what shakes out of the PI returns. The Turk rifles are showing up on the low end of the service grade scale.

SCV, listen go DO, wait till the other returns are ready to go. From what I seen at the south store today, you won’t be happy. Although they had M1D’s with the correct M84 scopes for $2700 and some correct late WW2 M1’s for the substantial price of $3000. Field grades looked kinda rough, service grades looked a bit better, but, not by much.

This was the first time I’d been out for a visit since they closed the old south store. It was quite a shock to see the new store. It’s small and not many rifles around. It was depressing considering this was what I was used to 6 years ago.

I was there earlier. Didn't shoot, just toured the facilities.

Awesome. You have to go back and shoot there. No pits. No spotting scope or markers needed. No stopping to hang and check target. Electronic targets show your score on a monitor on your bench.

Look, if anyone spends that type money on an old gun, then you have to much money.

Go buy a Savage Edge/Axis for $300, get a Timney trigger, and put a decent scope on it.

You just saved your self at least 2,000 dollars and you can kill whatever North American game you want at dang long range if your a capable shot at all.

I get it you worked hard for your money and your all about nice things. Nostalgia is ok by me, but you could take that extra grand and give it to the poor little ones at the St Judes.

Them is some dang good humans and take care of sick babies. I love those people.

Or...

Someone buys it for the historical reasons.

And that picture was taken after they removed a row between the closest rack and the next one. You couldn’t walk out of there with a bad rifle if you tried. I have field grades from 10 years ago that look better that the service grades coming out now. I paid $850 for a Springfield correct grade, which was outrageous considering a Greek rack grade was $295. Never shot it, couldn’t bring myself to put any wear on it.

Also you can’t take pictures in the store anymore.

Finally finished the pistol that I’ve been collecting parts for.
First one I’ve put totally together.

•Anvil arms lower
•Rock river lower parts kit
•Sun Devil upper
•Wilson arms 10.5 inch 223 Wilde barrel, carbine gas tube
•LMT bolt carrier, BCM charge handle.
•Spikes buffer and tube
•Magpul AFG-2 and K2 grip
•Blade brace
•Vortex strikefire 1 (for now)

Still need iron sights but, I’m happy with it for now.

Can’t figure out why my pics are upside down but here they are anyway.
