The Official 2nd Amendment Appreciation Thread

I'm building an ar pistol and trying to decide between 5.56 and 300 blk. Who has an opinion or some input on the matter

I've built both. The only reason that I would consider the 300 is if I wanted to eventually shoot suppressed. The 300 B/O is much easier to shoot subsonic. Hard to find loads in the 556 that are subsonic because of the lighter bullet. 300 B/O will be more expensive to shoot.

Somebody recommend a good 12 gauge ammo that will knock down a grizzly or moose (if I need to) during my upcoming trip up north. I have a Remington 870 12 gauge which will probably suffice for the gun, but I'm open to suggestions and alternatives for shotgun and shells during my upcoming trip to the great white north.

And yeah I know I'm going through Canada and have that covered.

That is a good deal. They had their Premium line on sale yesterday as well.

I may order one just to build another 300BO so you can make fun of me. :)

Also, can you tell if it's a full auto BCG? Doesn't say in the description so I assume not.

I remember watching something about guys fishing in Alaska and the guide said for bear you load a couple slugs first, buckshot next, and finally birdshot to try to blind them close up. That was not comforting.

It would be a rare occurrence to have that kind of time in a charge.

Also, I'm pretty dubious of the birdshot idea. If you're going to be hitting the bear in the face anyway (the only place birdshot would have any effect) I'd sure as hell rather be doing it with a slug/OOO.

"You don't need anything other than bear spray."
