My lightweight "hog hunting/comp setup"

BCM upper with LW barrel, lower I built from a Palmetto state blem, B5 stock, H2 buffer with Springco blue, ALG QMS, Rainier RMC mini comp (out of production and makes it sound like a .30-06), Larue Sling, BCM stubby vert (again, used as a handstop), Aimpoint Micro T1

I figure Casey (our Sheperd) will give me advance warning of anyone approaching, as she regularly does, and 10 seconds if I need it if the house is breached. She's "gun trained", and will disengage (on a sleeve) at the first shot.

Bedside is the Glock, and although I probably should have a TLR on it, that precludes IWB as a designated defender at church, so stock it stays. I do have a tac light bedside, but I'm honestly less accurate in the "light hand / gun hand" mode, so I just figure if it's moving, shoot it, since it's just me, the wife, and the dog.

Rock is ~ 6 feet away in the dresser, and the SA now resides in my raid vest. AR is next to the vest, both of which are in my closet, about 15 feet away. Mags reside with wherever the gun is. Diana has nixed my idea for 3 am "Perimeter Drills", so I'll just have to hope I'm ready if...

Hers is the .38 M+P with the Crimson Trace laser. No idea what she'd do in a fight in the dark, but she's dialed in at 5 yards on the range, so...have to hope for the best there.

And, of course, that she doesn't have bad nightmares...lol.

Good stuff, GV. Stay who you are.

Curious if anyone can answer this: In the state of Tennessee do suicide attempts show up on a background check for a firearm purchase?

Came in today

Hope it’s not one of them killing guns 😬

After shooting a G42 and G43, I'm 99% sure I will get the G43 for my all day carry. Do you think I should consider the X? I know it's decently bigger, but what are your thoughts? I usually carry a G23, and I'm tired of being weighed down by it. I'm guessing the X isn't going to resolve that issue...

I wouldn’t carry the X. It’s harder to conceal with the full frame (the biggest thing that imprints).

The 43 is what my wife has (I carry an XDs 45). It’s a good little gun, easy to conceal

They should not in any state since it's technically protected medical information.

the dog, will probably keep anyone out

And as for waiting, I’m 3 months into waiting on my integrally suppresses 9mm carbine. It blows

I've owned rifles and shotguns and hunted most of my life, but I've never carried a handgun. However, with how times have gotten I've started looking at a gun for concealed carry. I went straight to a Glock 43 and Glock 19. I've researched and held them both, even shot the 19. I am 6' 2" and 180 lbs, so I am concerned on how I can conceal the 19, but then the capacity of the 43 concerns me with only 6+1. Anybody have advice or have owned both?

43 will be extremely easy to conceal (even in shorts and a t-shirt). If ya need more than 6-7 shots maybe you shouldn’t carry (somewhat joking).

G43 comes with two mags. No point in leaving one at home.

My G30S is 10+1, but I stick with 10. And my RIA is 7+1, but I go with 7, and I am not part of the "cocked & locked" crowd. With both, I carry a spare mag...or two...depending on where I am.

I've seen a couple of revolver shooters that would wow you with how fast they can reload. So, train with what you plan to shoot.

Any recommendations for how to concealed carry? Maybe thoughts on some of the undershirts I’ve seen with built in holsters or anything else you guys like?
