The Official 2nd Amendment Appreciation Thread

Thanks. That's exactly where I've been keeping it. I just wasn't sure how long I can keep it stored. Would hate to need it one day and not go bang

I've shot plenty of WWII headstamped .30 carbine and .45 with no issues. 30-06 from that period can also be shot but the only drawback is that it's corrosive. I would not hesitate to shoot Korean era ammo. CMP sells Greek manufactured ammo dating back to 69 and it shoots great. Eventually the powder will break down but kept stable it'll last a very long time.

Thanks Outlaw that makes me feel better knowing that.

Agreed. I've fed 1000s of rounds of CMP M2 .06 through my Garands with no problems.

Speaking of, CMP just released more M1s. Get them while you can. Seriously.

Storage condition is the main concern. Cool dry storage and it'll last a long time. GI ammo cans with good seals will keep it stable. I saw a post recently where a guy in LA had to leave ammo behind in GI cans during the floods. 3 days under 2 feet of water and it all stayed dry.

I add dessicant packs to mine as a just in case measure as well.

I'm kind of garanded out. I have more than I need and will figure out a few to sell. I also think eventually the bottom is going to drop out of the market when all these old guys with a platoon or company's worth of rifles kick the bucket. There are going to be a lot floating around in 20 years, and I haven't seen much interest in people my age and younger. They are AR/AK all the way.

I picked up a CZ SP-01 a few days ago. I had one before and always regretted selling it. This is one of the sweetest shooting 9mm's on the market. It's to our advantage CZ are as underrated as they are. Great prices, for great pistols.

i have a sp01 tactical as well...its a nail driver. Any experience with a red-dot/MOS on a pistol? particularly a carry pistol?

I've shot them. I have a buddy who has a glock 19 with a trijicon rmr on top. It's ok, not my cup of tea. I do see the purpose. My eyes are getting worse and I may need to move to a format like that eventually.

do you know if he had the sight milled into the slide or was it the mos version that comes with the removable plate? im curious because i have a chance to pick one of these up with sight included for what i would call a reasonable price but its the mos version and i haven't been able to find much reviews on them.

He sent his off and they milled his slide.

looks good, I looked at the CZ, before I went with a glock a month or so ago

I couldn't find a CZ, with a threaded barrell

For you ammo hoarders out there:

1000 round case - 45 Auto 230 Grain FMJ ammo made by Geco in Hungary | SGAmmo.com

GECO is some good stuff and this is the first time I've seen non-magnetic projectiles on their ammo.

1000 round case - 9mm Luger FMJ 115 grain Brass Case Prvi Partizan Ammo - PPR92 | SGAmmo.com

And PPU is straight legit.

And for the weirdos that have that oddball caliber:

20 round box - 300 AAC Blackout 200 Grain SUBSONIC FMJ Ammo by Sellier Bellot - SB300BLKSUBA | SGAmmo.com

Sweet! Time to get some 9mm.
