The Official 2nd Amendment Appreciation Thread

Anyone know anything about the Sig Mosquito .22? Great deal on it at the LGS ($239) but I am reading some negative reviews on what ammo it will eat. Would like to buy as a plinker and to train my wife for her new 9mm. She has only shot a gun once.

I've found a great many .22s to be finicky when it comes to what type of ammo they eat with the exception of Rugers and Brownings which also carry a hefty price tag.

The Walther P22 is pretty decent for the job and not much more than the Mosquito. You might look at that.

Stay away from the Mosquito, they are junk out of the box. Very finicky when it comes to ammo. Get a Ruger SR22 or a Walther P22, both are great little plinkers that will eat almost anything.

I agree. I bought a Walther P22 for my brother for Christmas a couple of years ago and that thing is sweet. It's the earth tone finish, not that it matters, but it looks great.

'nuther vote for the SR22. Handles ammo very well. I do find however that it works better if I only put 9 in the mag instead of 10.

Concur. The Ruger Mark II or III's will shoot about anything. Sig Mosquito-finicky.

So after months I finally got to shoot my AR. No misfires, no feed issues when trying to cycle through quickly either. No issues with the cheap Russian stuff either. Now to but some more a take the time to sight it in.

The instructor at my cc class had it and let me shoot it after my range test, the classroom section was way to long and I could have passed the test without sitting through it, and I really liked it the gun.

That's important that your comfortable with it

Blasphemers, the lot of you! There needs to be scenes of epic knife hands etched into every part of the rifle. Maybe a few throat punches for good measure with the motto of "Get off my grass!". That would inspire any 1SG to be a SGM/CSM!

Bump that noise! I still keep it old school. My Soldiers respect me more for it. Soldiers love old grizzled, grumpy 1SGs who cuss and are violent. You just gotta know when to flip the switch and when to be sincere. Can't be a hard case all the time. Especially when Joe has legit issues. I treat my Soldiers like my children, lots of smokings and lots of knife hands!

When you catch them walking on your grass do make them count the blades they murdered?
