The Official 2nd Amendment Appreciation Thread

I have one of the P6 models. Nice pistol, horrid factory trigger. But it's your typical Sig quality and can be concealed somewhat easily.

Don't know about the trigger on the 225. But the SRT upgrade is nice

Comes factory with the SRT. Reviews are if you like the current Sig trigger you gonna like this one.

Apparently it comes basically like a "Legion" version of a Sig.

Pricey though

I wouldn't mind picking up a midsized 380 auto. I don't care for the little tiny ones. I would like a single/action,double action. I know the significance is single action only. Any suggestions?

I don't think you can go wrong with a Bersa Thunder .380.

(if that's what you mean by midsized).

Maybe a Walther pk380?

I have an old Bersa and I love it. Don't have the Walther but the ergo's are great. Only negative I ever saw consistently was takedown was odd/challenging on the Walther.

The Bersa is a PPK clone - kinda a cross between a PPK and a Sig p232 but much, much cheaper and reliable.

Very familiar with the Bersa. Bought my wife one and it's a very good for the money. I would like something a little sexier. Lol.

Nothing sexier than a p232 in stainless.

I've got one in the safe but I rarely use it. It's beautiful and a great shooter but it weighs a ton for the size.

One of those I'll hold onto for sure.

Yea I've never even seen one in a gun store. My S&W Ppk looked great, but it was heavy and misfired almost every other shot, no matter which ammo you used. Sold it. The Bersa is far superior and costs half the price.

Now, my 1965 Ppk in .32.....no comparison. That thing is bad to the bone.

This is what I carry now. Straight double action. And it's a 40 so it's a beast to shoot. A lot of power in a small package though.

Is that Double action/Single Action? I thought they were single action only.

Edit: Read that it was DA/SA. May have to look for one.

That's the 238 - much smaller buy 1911 styled.

The 232 is a PPK style blowback. Comes in alloy as well which looks good too. Same basic size as the Bersa your wife has.

So I went to the LGS to look at a few things. Not only did they have the P225A-1 in stock; they had a smoking deal on them.

MSRP is 1175. Street is around a grand. They had them for 699 plus they came with 3 mags (Sig mags).

If you live near Birmingham - head over to Mark's while they last (had at least 8 more and maybe more in the back).

Couldn't pass it up - traded something from the safe I wasn't using and gave them 250. Voila.

A little research and I see why I got the deal I did. Sig must have introduced a new version - the Classic Carry - of the P225. It's not on their website yet (mine has a date on the sticker of Dec 1 2016.

Feature wise it is identical to the others. SRT, G10 grips, Siglite night sights. Differences are the grip doesn't have the Sig medallion, has Sig logo painted on top of slide near rear sights and the grips are a different pattern showing the layers of a G10 vs all black on traditional P225 A-1. Also has a small silver stripe on the slide. Other difference is it comes with 3 mags (mecgar) instead of two.

These are selling for 799 online so I still like the 699 price and for a few cosmetic differences I'll take the price drop over the 1125 MSRP one.

I'm a gettin that AR itch once again...

Anyone know anything about Radical Firearms? Specifically their 6.5 Grendel kits? Dang good price at Primary Arms...almost too good of a price if you know what I mean.

Radical Firearms 20" 6.5 Grendel Upper Receiver Group

I've got a 6.8 and an AR-10. Possibly looking into the 6.5 world just for kicks.

Does that use the same BCG and CH? Does it come with them? Did not appear to.

Same charging handle, same bolt carrier, different bolt.

It's a company I've never heard of and not a lot about them in reviews. I could go the safe route with Alexander Arms, but it's a nice deal.

Might build one from the ground up instead.

Any advice/recommendations on a fingerprint/bedside safe? My electronic code model needs replacing.

GunVault. Came highly recommended. I bought the Standard with 4 buttons without biometrics. Works great. Had it a year.

I own a locksmith business and have to open biometric safes due to failure all the time. I'd go coded or keyed.
