The Official #23 Tennessee vs. #18 Florida Game Thread, 6:01pm ET, ESPN

I thought our defense would contain and not allow the big plays. We made Florida look great tonight by us just not adjusting. Pitiful.....

this was hard to watch, but something else bothers me even more. if tennesssee doesn't recruit, tennessee doesn't matter. the last look i had at the recruiting race puts the vols in the 'doesn't matter' category.

Pal we had the talent tonight. We didn't "execute" the plays; espicially our defense- no pass defense at all - that caused everything negative to allow them to pin their ears back.

Bray was off his game early. When he got on track, drops really hurt us. These two things along with busted assignments and bad angles on defense, not to mention suspect play calling, killed our chances to win.

Right. And(those people) have close ties to bama. Wouldn't be surprised to see Smart as a top choice

I hope hart is better than that. Kind of stupid to spend millions on a coach b/c he has ties with him. He better go find the best available which IMO is not smart.

A close loss, and I could have felt encouraged about something. This is such an ugly disappointing loss, I just don't know. First 5 minutes of the second half, I just knew we were going to win and then we turned into last years team.

Not really saying I want him here, but there are other options besides Bammer assistant coaches. Heck, maybe ULM's head coach wouldn't be a bad hire?

i have to say that guy looks good :) but he would be another coach from La,could be bad vibes lol,CDD is still low on players, people talk about the new depth,i don't see it,there just new freshmen and sophs, that need time in the system

I think that Hamilton forcing Dooley to keep the assistant coaches that were in place is part of the problem we still have. My gut says Chaney wouldn't have been retained in the first place. We would have an OC that trusted the run more, and might have been further along. It's obvious that Kiffin was calling the plays when he was here, because we actually had a run game that enabled a good passing attack. The result was a more physical approach to offense.

Given, I'm not an expert on the game of football; however, it seems to me that the Gators had more play schemes than the Vols could answer. They kept pulling things out of the box! Different plays -- different ways to move the ball. Somebody knew something that our Coaching Staff did not know or could imagine! That's not on Dooley; that's on Chaney and "Sal":ermm:

I'm not a fan of Jim Chaney's offense. I don't think it's ever going to get much done in this league... Too finesse for my liking..
