Maryland is a very good team and probably the best 4 seed in the tournament, but Florida is elite when they aren’t killing themselves with turnovers, just ask Alabama who Florida handled easily twice this season. Also all the distractions with their coach probably isn’t helping.
They are on opposite sides of the bracket.I’ll stop short of saying a fix is in, but I’m sure a lot of folks are hoping for that. For someone who isn’t really behind a single team and is just watching for the love of the game (probably quite of a few folks like that out there), that would be quite the storyline.
With that being said, I think Tech sends the Hogs home.
Just like with Alabama, it’s easy to say “they just shot lights out! That’s why they won!” (Although bama did play a defense that is atrocious in many ways). At some point, you just gotta fess up and say that the reason they shot lights out is because they’re an awesome team and run excellent offense with some really good players. Golden may or may not be a creep (maybe time will tell), but the guy can coach basketball and has a great team.
BYU was ranked #247 in opposition 3s this year. They’re awful defensively
It was lined up for a silver platter for Maryland and then they get embarrassed the second half. **** them. Can’t believe both these bum teams are going to the elite 8. Good grief
Please enlighten us as to what BYU has ever done in basketball....And tell us about their great basketball tradition. I guess BYU is a Blueblood and I missed the memo.
I think Bama's night is a bad omen. Law of averages may be there in the next game regardless of how good or bad the next defense is they play
Bama has also had a comically easy path, wouldn’t be surprised if Zona upset Dukeonly reason they made a final 4 last year is because of the path and luck. They’re a way better team this year though but still an easy path.
I think they like to push tempo and they’re not able to out Bama Bama . This was an atrocious matchup for them .They’re not great defensively, but they’re a very good team who has been playing like a Top 4 KenPom team for the past 4-6 weeks. I don’t have a paid sub or I’d get the exact date, but it was on a podcast I listened to today that they have been the 4th best team in KenPom for at least the past month. Alabama just did what only Alabama can do.
I think he’s horribly wrong in his assessment that BYU is better than Kentucky. That’s a very emotional assessment imo as Kentucky beats BYU more times than not. However, to his point, what does it matter what BYU’s program has historically done? We’re talking about 2025. What effect does it have on this tournament what a program has done historically? The answer: no effect at all.
