When's the last time we had a kicker that when he walked on the field in nut cutting time we knew it was in the bag. I wouldn't put a dollar on our kickers the last several years making a big kick from 45 plus.

True. But Kicker should have never been in that situation. Game was lost on series after the fumble recovery. CJH showed Kirby he didn’t have the guys to take that game.

Just when you’re inside 15-25 seconds, run the ball toward the middle each time if that’s where you’re trying to kick it from.

Don’t run it to the left hashmark for two straight plays and then try to run a third to get it back in the middle with like 5 seconds left in the game.

Wasn’t trying to be combative and I actually couldn’t agree more. Being in the game at the end with the chance to win is all you can ask for in those games. Go Vols

Good grief people. Its okay. Log off,watch another game and be calm. It sucks that they lost,but it's one game. Its a long year with a lot of games to play yet.

GA literally has top 5 talent.
Even with a wash in coaching talent GA wins, and Kirby is as good a coach.
TN had no business even being in the game, yet there we were. But for Max missing on a chance he nailed minutes later - bless the young man, that's a tough one - the team does something they shouldn't.

Nobody likes the loss, but this team did more than they should have.

With less than 15-25 seconds left, those runs have to be called toward the part of the field you want to be kicking it from. (You don’t save lining it up for the final 5 seconds of the game.)

I would tend to agree with your opinion here. It makes no sense to run 2 straight plays to the left hash, if you want the kicker in the middle. Two QB sneaks with QB under and you are dead set in the middle. But I don’t make millions of dollars so my opinion is trash.

He played it smart. The loss of 5 put them behind the chains. He ran the ball next, which let everyone know he was settling for the FG. Gilbert should have made the kick. He didn’t and it ended up going to OT. I didn’t agree with taking the ball first. I thought that was odd. The. They didn’t execute. UGA got away with a huge run and were just too close to stop. It was over at that point. Players have to make plays. They didn’t make enough. On to next week.

Maybe, but nothing matters until the CFP rankings debut in November.

We can’t lose more than one more game to have a shot.

You're crazy. That area has to be a score in the SEC. If he can't prevent choking in that situation, another kicker is needed, and Gilbert should transfer to a lower level. That needs to be 3 for a SEC team just as a 50 needs to be 3 for a NFL team in that situation.

Mistakes happen. QBs throw picks, RBs fumble, WRs drop passes. Kickers miss kicks from time to time
