The Official #15 Tennessee vs. #6 Georgia Game Thread, 3:30 ET, ABC

8-4

This was a game UT should have won. They lost.

Simple as that. You win the tough ones at home. UT lost.

It is what it is...
You see three more losses? Man I hope not. Not with getting McCoy back. Next three should be wins to set them up nice vs Alabama

What breaks my heart is the fact that Joey Aguilar has only one season of eligibility, so only one chance to become a legend. Had we won, he'd be in the Heisman discussion. What a great story that would have been. But with the loss, he'll just be remembered by Vols fans as another Casey Clausen.
Or they do really well rest of the season if he wants to live in ktown after the season he never worries about finding a good paying job.

The play calling was pitiful on the last drive and the overtime drive. Players were up to the moment, the coaches were not. 4th and 6 give up a TD. Wide open easy throw for 2.

Choking implies losing to a team you should easily beat. Florida’s teams in the 90s were also extremely good.

And you still didn’t answer whatever you were talking about regarding Kirby Smart while he was at Missouri.
Choking in this game means the kicker missed a field goal that he should have hit.

As I told someone earlier, in nine seasons Smart has lost 19 games..6 of those to Saban
He is who we thought he was.
Of the other 13 losses, I would be interested seeing who those were. How many in SECCG, CFP, and National title games.
Like someone said earlier this week...when we play Kirby it's a loss until it's not a loss.

100% scared money don’t make money
That’s why he never or very rarely wins these type games.

Atleast trying to score after the fumble, if successful, puts you up 12 and a win cause there would not have been enough time for GA to get two more possessions.

Once you prove to Kirby your bslls fell off he will beat you.

We will always be good with CJH. But we will never be Kirby good or natty good with him. He farts away any killer instinct right when you need it.

Kicker literally has 1 job. 42 yds should be made. We went into this game missing some of our best players and Hueple put them in position to win and our kicker blew his chance to be remembered. Now he'll be remembered for all the wrong reasons. They'll replay that every Georgia game for the next decade.

Nah, kicker whiffed it. Guy didn’t even have the right line.
Gilbert missing the kick and Heupel’s decision to get greedy on 3rd and 7 being bad are not mutually exclusive concepts. Do you and the rest of the dolts on here understand that? Happy to tell you it’s “all Gilbert” if Heupel doesn’t do something so completely out of character that it defies logic. Do you understand the concept of mutual exclusion in general?

Kicker choke job. This is not in Hueple. You take the 42 yd field goal that your kicker should be making. He can't afford another penalty or turnover. Do your job and make the FG, if you can't well then hit the road.
Eh, there is one thing to be said, though: if they were trying to set up the kicker in the middle of the hash marks (which the 3rd and 7 play that the false start was on seemed to suggest based on the direction the QB went when the ball was actually snapped), then they should have actually been running the ball there on the previous plays…the two runs beforehand were both to the left side of the field (on outside the left hash and the other toward/along the left hashmark).

With less than 15-25 seconds left, those runs have to be called toward the part of the field you want to be kicking it from. (You don’t save lining it up for the final 5 seconds of the game.)
