I remember a couple years ago when some of us on here posited that if Milton couldn't do it in his senior year, he wasn't going to magically suddenly get it in year five or six, and that it was bad coaching to trot him out there just because of his arm strength. And of course we got excoriated and told how little we knew about football.
I really wanted to be wrong. But I also said back then that a coach that would recruit Milton to come here, and play him over the other QBs we had on the roster, might not be the great coach we were being told he was.
Of course some of us also said that a coach who would hire Martinez and Banks, and stick with them in spite of the defense continuing to look like crap and play with no fundamentals or sense or heart year after year, might not be the right coach.
I wanted so much to be wrong, and believe that maybe finally our inept, criminally negligent administration and boosters had stumbled into a good hire. They haven't.
