The Official #1 Tennessee @ Florida Weekend Series Thread (Friday 6:30PM EST SEC NET+) (Saturday 6:30PM EST SEC NET+) (Sunday Noon SEC NET+)

Our pitching has been very good, but when looking at team batting averages, TN has only faced 2 of the top 12 teams(3 counting FL in progress). Our pitching had influence on the avg of the teams we have faced, yet TN has not faced the best offenses in the league to this point in the season. That said, I think our staff will cool down hitters from those at the top of the chart and it will be fun to watch.

Batting averages are one thing, but that combined with base on balls, total runs scored, Slugging %, and OBP tell a more complete story.

I guess when you’re stacked 1 through 9, have 4 aces on the mound and a platoon of steady arms in the pen, you can afford to be slightly above average on the defensive end.
Gilbert and Beck are studs in the OF, Luc is usually money at 1st, Trey is solid at 3rd and Ortega seems to be coming around.
I think we’ll be ok.
GBO!!

Yep, and most importantly, SS and catcher appear to be pretty solid. Biggest rap on our defense is holding runners on base. Last night, Burns was pitching from the stretch to try to hold runners on but they got a successful double steal anyway. He should have been just pitching from the windup as it turned out.!! Ortega is doing better, agree, and same with Trey. All in all, it's good enough that our pitching and offense can overcome the occasional error vast majority of times.

Ortega’s bat of late, has made me forget about his defense.
😎

I was worried about Russell, behind the plate. But he’s eased my concerns for the most part.
That guy is just a baseball player!
Super good dude too. The way he was interacting with kids at the meet and greet last week, was awesome!
GBO!!

Both of my daughters were scheduled and induced. Once the pregnancy makes it to full term, I don't see why this would not be standard practice to save all the unnecessary stress.
Both of our kids as well. It was like checking into a hotel room, but you leave with a baby.

Yeah, at the beginning of the season he had a real problem with popups at the plate. Now he looks much more comfortable. And his throwing arm is getting more accurate. It's fun watching a guy grow like that right in front of our eyes.

We are scheduled to be induced May 1st at 39 weeks but sometimes babies and certain pregnancies have a mind of their own......
