good chance he is an ass kicker though. Him being selected for his national team is evidence.
Fair, but even Plavsic was on his national team. Not gonna pretend to know the skill level of the Israeli national team, so not sure if they’re head and shoulders better lol

I was thinking about that as well. I feel like they’re probably decent, but I don’t remember Israel winning a lot of international tournaments or anything.

I know virtually nothing about this question, and I certainly hope for the best, but to me you make a strong counterpoint, given the high quality of basketball played in Serbia and the former Yugoslav republics generally.

He made the team before his time at UT? I know he did after he graduated.

And he graduated as a starter, on a top 25 team.

Now yeah, Serbia is obviously better than Israel historically. But guard is a more competitive position regardless of country. Cause you don’t have to be 6”9+

Israel has also been rapidly improving from a basketball perspective. There have been multiple 1st rounders from Israel in the last few years.

All that to say, I’m pretty high on Burg. But we’ll just have to see.

I don’t really think there’s much of a difference there, since Burg is coming in as a 23 year old.

That said, don’t want to sound like a downer. I agree, I expect Burg to be a difference maker and his experience will hopefully have him more ready to play in the SEC day 1. I guess I’ve just slightly tempered my expectations of him in OOC this season with how high of standards CRB has for conditioning and chemistry. Irregardless of skill, it’s hard to come in and be completely integrated in 1-2 months.
