He played horrible in summer league and just as bad so far in Preseason.

still, I’d take these “negative asset” rumors with a grain of salt. It’s the type of thing that gets planted by a team trying to actively trade for him and ward off suitors.

Ultimately, I think his best option is to get traded to a tanking team for like 2 second round picks where they will let him play, score 17-18 a game and then flip him next year for a first round pick on the last year of his rookie deal.

The NBA is a brutal league as players are traded left and right.

I seriously hope they trade DK. It’s clear he’s not happy there and they have no intention of using him much. He needs a better situation.

Wow. I hope he gets a good chance somewhere. I know I am not an expert on NBA talent, but if he is not at that level, I don't know what to say.

Love DK. Loved his time at UT.

But I think Kevin Pelton best diagnosed the issue with DK before the NBA draft even happened.

basically, DK doesn’t produce any (analytical) value beyond scoring. At UT he produced a super low amount of stocks. And low assists relative to his usage%.

His BBIQ is low. His defense is poor at the NBA level.

Yikes…..gotta admit I did not see things souring this quickly for DK.

I watched just a few minutes of the preseason game, and he had a bad lapse on defense. That said, there are a bunch of NBA guys who don't play well on defense. You have to score and do other things though.

One bad night in preseason won't break his career. I just don't think he's on a great team for him to develop. They are in win-now mode.

Guard play is my primary concern w/ ZZ no longer on the roster. I think this may be our best front court in yrs - need a healthy Estrella.

Yeah, we will miss ZZ, BUT he did have a tendency for unforced turnovers at times. We did beat the national champion, no, we crushed the eventual national champion without him.

DK has to improve of course but he wasn’t made to sit on the bench then go stand in the corner for a few possessions, which is what he did most of last year. I watched every game I could and he’d go 4-5 possessions without a touch at times then sub out.

I may be wrong here but I swear we have always played KY at home noon and always play them at night in rupp. Is it tradition that we play on weekends at home or something? It sucks
