It may have been good for us if Ole Miss had gotten trounced, but I'm not sure it affects our chances of getting in one way or another now, do some of you agree? I think regardless of what happened in this game, it was still going to come down to a coin toss between us and MTSU, do you think?
Ole Miss was in regardless. It's gonna come down to whether or not they feel Tennessee is more deserving than MTSU, and personally, I feel we are. But it's not up to me. I'm still upset, that with so much on the line, Tennessee came out flat. They didn't play with intensity or any sort of motivation against Bama. They looked like a lost, and uninspired team. Sometimes I feel like Martin is a great coach, and other times I don't. We're an inconsistent team, and that's something that has continued from last year up to now! I know we haven't been completely healthy this year, but when Tennessee plays with a chip on their shoulder, they can beat anybody. And when they don't show up, they can be beat by anybody. That's the problem.
Of all the damn luck, I'm afraid that Ole Miss winning hurts, not because of the bid (I think they were already in) but because it makes MTSU look better
I'm not so sure we are "more deserving". We knew that the GA game was a necessary win. We knew that we had to beat Bama to make it in. One fault of CCM is that he has difficulty getting this team up for big games away from TBA. Other than the FL win last year, I can't think of another "big" road or neutral court win.
It's our own fault that a decision has to be made between us and MTSU. Hope the comment isn't made in the selection committee that pretty much the same 2 teams played last year and MTSU put us out of the NIT.
