The Nick Stephens for Starting QB Thread

I am as frustrated as any Vol fan out there, but if Lane Kiffin believed that Nick Stephens was indeed the answer to our below-average QB play, then Nick Stephens would be on the field. I don't buy the notion that Coach Kiffin has any philosophy other than to get the players on the field he believes gives this team the best opportunity to win games. If he believed that to be Stephens, then that is who would be on the field. I'm going to trust Coach Kiffin and hope that this team can continue to give us signs of hope for the future.

Why not try one of our athletic boys at the triple option, we are running the ball already so it couldn't hurt. Brown diving and Hardesty around the end.

Bingo. That's what I've been saying. If Kiffin thought he had a better chance to upset a team like Florida in his first year by going with Stephens, I'm pretty freaking sure he would make the switch.

Quite possibly. If Kiffin had his wish though I bet he would not throw Bray into the fire next year.

I agree, but I would rather have Bray take his lumps now than to make him wait too long to figure out how to overcome mistakes in this league.

No, but musical QB's never wins you any support from your team. See last year as a prime example.

I agree that playing musical qb's in the same game is not the way to go, and doing it every other week is not smart either. But Cromp aint getting it done

Anyone can have a bad game.

The thing with Crompton is... that's every game.

So what's your point?

Bring on Stephens he is cocky, he is confident and he takes chances to win a game.

I would rather take my knocks with the QB that will be here next year to gain chemistry with my backs and receivers than to go out like a chump with Mr. Crompton(to keep me from saying what i really feel)

Yes, very true. It's obvious we're just plain awful at QB... and will be until help arrives.
THATS EXACTLY RIGHT GUYS...Remember we are all on the same team here. Crompton is our best option, like it or not. I know that it's hard to swallow...But it will get better. Look past it and see the direction that we are going.

And sending in a guy that the coaching staff with NFL experience feels can't get the job done any better isn't going to get it done either.
