You know LSU should be pi$$ed!

Why? You can't fault Saban for trying to coach at the highest level in the game, and where the money is greater.

He tried it and it hasn't worked as of yet so now he goes back to what he does best (assuming he accepts), work with 18-22 yr. olds.

Obviously it's unfortunate because LSU lost a good caoch but as a fan of the game and looking at the big picture, most of us, in the same circumstances would have done the same thing.

He signed the papers about an hour ago. Details to follow. Thanks everyone for making this dream come true!

Did you get your info from the same "insider" that told Rodriguez was a done deal?

Now being reported that Saban and Miami owner will meet again tomorrow. He wants more time to mull it all over. Sounds like Saban/Sexton may be playing the Fins. I understand the position that Mal Moore is in but if I were him I don't think I could stand this. I'd rescind my offer and go home.

Its funny how Alabama and someone getting paid or paid more is part of what's happened during this coaching search.

Wouldn't mind him doing that.

local sports talk show in GA says Saban is to have a press conference at 10am tomorrow and accept Bama job. Who cares, he will leave in a few years.

Chris Speilman reported today, on 1460 the fan, that a source close to him spoke with Saban last night before the Rose Bowl and Saban told the source that he could not pass up the offer.

my question is, will Bama offer the same salary package to one of these other coaches that are second fiddle if he declines. They will be up the creek if Saban turns them down.

Saban has become a less media savvy version of Larry Brown.

Watch and see...

If he does not accept, somone else will be named. There is a backup already worked out.

here in bham there are three different people who are said to be thre second choice, depending on which radio personality is on the air. The CBS announcers said saturday during their football coverage the Cut was the backup. The other choices are that if Saban turned it down, Moore was going after petrino, and Grobe in that order since they were both in Miami for the Orange Bowl. They are saying an announcement is coming at any minute to name him the head coach. Saying it is a done deal.

If that's the case, my money's on Saban. I hope he doesnt take it, though.
