The meltdown that is happening on the Vandy message boards

So what they saying now that we beat the same Georgia team that routed them?

Saying they wish they could have played them without Chubb like we did.

Yes. Seriously.

That's what they're saying.

But Georgia is now a much weaker team without Nick Chubb. (NOTE: The SEC moved the Georgia-Vanderbilt game to the second week of the season this year for TV reasons, instead of the seventh week, when it traditionally is played. What would have happened if Vanderbilt had faced Georgia without Nick Chubb and Isaiah McKenzie, as UT did yesterday?) Greyson Lambert just does not look like a championship QB to me.

Georgia looked bad the last two weeks. I wish we could play them again. I believe we beat them without Chubb and with the qwb having low confidence and Johnny Mc having more confidence.

Funny, I don't remember them downplaying their victory over UGA in 2013 when they played them after half the team got injured when they played us; and even then it took a comeback for them to win.

Yep...and that comeback was dependent on a Georgia freshman rb fumbling deep in his own territory, and the Georgia punter dropping a snap close to his own goal line. Also, not only was Georgia decimated injury-wise, but they also had their best DL, Ray Drew, ejected early in the game for a bogus targeting call. Like everything else that occurred during the Franklin era at Vandy, won that game with smoke and mirrors.

I guess us not having Pig Howard, Curt Maggit, Brett Kendrick, Marcus Jackson, Jason Croom, Shy Tuttle, and probably one of our best db's didn't hurt us at all.

Responses to UF losing Grier:

So ... is it that crazy to think:
1. 5-3 may be enough to win the division (UF is 4-0, but still has to play LSU, Georgia, and us)
2. We can go 5-3.
All starts this weekend!

Vandy 5-3 (losses to UGA, TAMU, Ole Miss)
Florida 5-3 (losses to Vandy, UGA, LSU)
UT 4-4 (losses to FL, Arkansas, Alabama, Vandy)
UGA 4-4 (losses to UT, Alabama, Auburn, Mizzou)
UK 3-5 (wins over Mizzou, SC, Auburn)
Mizzou 2-6 (wins over UGA, Arky)
SC 0-8

Congratulations to your 2015 sacrificial lamb, the Vanderbilt Commodores!!

Nothing all that unreasonable here- and it results in Vandy winning the East

There is more 'win' in those posts than in VU football all year.

lol, us losing to Vandy. and them going 5-3 in the SEC. Florida will still beat them. Mizzou should as well. all three of those teams have exactly the same issues as a team

There's a reason we have a near 90% probability of winning the game against Vandy according to the FPI.

Yeah, their defense is better. But we can score 14 and win comfortably. Their offense is horrendous. McCrary is a turnover machine and Ralph Webb will have nothing left by the time that game rolls around.

Barring any more injuries, I predict UT puts up between 24-48 points on VU. No way that D is better than OU, UGA, and def not UF. And I don't see that D being nearly as good as any of the above

Haha that's so true. He goes out there and turns it over like it's his job to give it to the other team.

Almost speechless over that nonsense.
It's not really all that different than what you read over here though. Strip out the team names, and it is the same sunshine pumpers that set up the fire-the-coach websites when reality sets in.

The difference being when we say we will beat Vandy, we have the tools to back it up...well most of the time.

When they mark down UT as a win, which they've been doing since before the season, they base it on three year old delusions of 8-4 teams. And even after getting smoked by lesser teams, they still think winning the SEC East is possible. I mean, how many points would Oklahoma have hung on them? How would a Vandy and Bowling Green match up fare? Even without Grier, do you think Florida will even slow down?

I can't even understand why they think somehow miracles will happen.
